Far from ****ed over. He got offered a lot of money to fight a fighter who already knocked him out. Now he may have felt the offer wasn't good enough but even so ****ed over he was not.

The thing is, why is it ok for AJ to be affiliated with Sky/Matchroom but Fury and Whyte are scorned when they secure their own deals? What are people really expecting, that they should work around Joshua/Sky/Matchroom and dance to their tune? What’s good for one fighter is surely good for another.

I absolutely hate the politics of it but those people who love the numbers side of it are guilty of a bit of double standards here. AJ is as tied to a broadcaster as Fury, Whyte and Wilder.

Hope he knows and understands his P+Ls, because if he doesn't he is more than an idiot for not taking this.

Absolutely this. Hearn has repeatedly said since the DAZN deal that “if you want to fight X, you need to join DAZN”. That was repeated when Canelo joined the network too.

What sort of commercial blackmail is this? Kudos to Whyte and Fury for doing their own thing. The icing on the cake would be Wilder linking up with ESPN.

It's not that it's not 'ok' as much as Joshua is obviously leagues ahead of the rest in terms of generating money. Therefore they can sign with whoever they like; when the day comes to negotiate they'll dance to Joshua's tune and not the other way round, no matter what they say.

I don't expect Warren or Fury to come out and publically admit that AJ destroys their figures and the reality is whilst his current deal exists AJ against anyone is on Sky. But I expect them to privately acknowledge this is the case.

This Hearn interview says Whyte's UK TV won't change regardless and he will fight on Sky so don't think BT/Warren have anything to do with it.

That dancing to Joshua’s tune attitude has cost him fights with Wilder, Fury and Whyte. He is the A-side but it’s already been demonstrated (and acknowledged) that he will be blacklisted by them.

Hearn is dealing with the big boys now and is being soundly backhanded. What's the combined experience of Arum and Finkel in boxing? 80 years?

A few select learned members on here have been saying for months now that his disdain and disrespect being shown to fighters and promoters alike was going to come back and bite hard, and it has. No no, it was all a figment of our imaginations, it was all part of some grand master plan which would see MR and AJ dominate the US. Oh how we laughed.

Old master Arum sensed that Hearn was planning a US takeover and pulled a checkmate.

AJ fighting in Brentwood leisure centre when?

And where did that get the rest of them? Whyte has been fighting Chisora. Wilder and Fury are penniless in comparison to Joshua. Joshua still has the best CV in the division. I'm failing to see how this has had a major negative impact on Joshua?

Penniless, seriously? They’re minted. They’re all on PPV. Who cares about comparisons, they’ve all got more money than they could ever spend. It affects Joshua because he doesn’t get the opportunity to become undisputed, he doesn’t get the mega pay day fights with Wilder or Fury and obviously it’s us fans that suffer. My point is, you can’t go acting like the big ‘I am’, lowballing (and disrespecting) fighters and promoters who have been in the game for a long time. In the Americans minds, AJ is a big fish in a small pond and they hold the key to whether he gets to fight the Wilder’s and Fury’s.

I know you weirdly see this as some kind of personal attack on AJ and you get all defensive, but i’m a boxing fan and I want to see these mega fights.

Made that assumption myself. Why not have the best of both? Not like sky are in a position to cut ties. Whyte appears to be playing a blinder here. I guess that's what can happen when you manage yourself, instead of letting guys who have their own agenda make decisions for you.

And that’s acceptable... it’s acceptable for Wilder to say I’m blacklisting the guy with the other 3 major belts in the division...

Does anyone seriously think 60/40 for wilder is not more than fair... fan base/financials/belts all to me suggest it’s more than fair.

AJ is the A side which ever way you skin it. To me I don’t understand this narrative that people seem to push.
