Having priced himself out of the Joshua fight, in spite of being offered £7million and multiple world titles and the opportunity to headline at wembley, Dillian now predictably finds himself frozen out of the heavyweight title picture. Wilder will be fighting Breazeale next and then probably going on to face Joshua (with a rematch of that potential fight almost certainly happening if it's signed) so a potential fight with either on of those is off the table within the next 18months at least. Whyte does has a glimmer of hope in facing Fury however there's no way he'll be earning anything close to what he was offered for Joshua and imo he has a lower chance of beating Fury than he did with Joshua or Wilder. This is what happens when your ego grows too big, the reality is that he's a dangerous opponent without something like an unbeaten record or significant mainstream following to help sell a big fight. The numbers for Whyte vs Parker were 474,000 (1 million less than Joshua vs Parker) and the rematch with Chisora did even less with 438,000 buys, for comparison Bellew vs Usyk managed over 600k buys. Clearly Whyte had someone in his ear over-inflating his worth. Sorry Dillian but this is what happens when you don't take the opportunities presented.
He's put out a statement crying about Breazeale being before him which was completely predictable. Breazeale is a lesser threat and better sell in the US. The word naivety comes to mind.
Also, another thing to note is that with all the talent on their way up and the general depth of the division now, Dubois, Usyk, Joyce, kownacki and the rest it's likely to get a shot he'll have to face a dangerous opponent, taking another L would banish him to the lower echelons of the division. In ducking Joshua he may have given up the only opportunity at winning a title.
Some people try to be smarter beyond their own intelligence level. Dillian Whyte found out where the real power lies - with the networks and the money men, and not with the fighters. In life, ALWAYS think of the worst case scenario and try to prevent it from happening. Never over-value yourself. Ever.
Whyte is a bit dim and I don't particularly like him, he's earned the right to fight any of the champs.
Always made me chuckle how he ducks usyk saying he's a PPV star and no one knows who usyk is even though usyk sold more PPV in his own country. Delusional Dillian
The guy is now a multi millionaire and has maneuvered himself into a position with the promise of more doe which (business) is clearly a priority over a world belt. I take my hat off to him. He needs to be seen to be complaining about the Breazeale situation. I can't imagine now he is surprised nor would it have influenced his recent business decisions if he could do it all over again. Long game he will get a shot. As long as he keeps winning the big fights aren't going away fast.
The end goal was a Joshua fight down the line ,anyway .He knew he wasn't going to win at least yet. He took another path of least resistance and a roll the dice if Wilder should still be an option( Joshua) and Wilder STILL needs to get by a guy named Breazeale , a fight that wont be so easy as you guys think. So if Breazeale wins he then will probably fight Whyte. Was it a good move? No way. lol He not only gave up whatever he was offered but a rematch included worth 35% ( 50 if he won ) That's at least 4 years of net worth without Joshua . What about 15 million if he made 2 million a fight for 4 years with no offer like that ? And that's a big if without a title. so in giving up AJ in 2 fights he would need 8/10 fights to make the same numbers without a loss.??/ Highly UNLIKELY. A Breazeale win is the only way he has a great angle OR Joshua does defeat Wilder sooner then later and they have their fight in 2021? lol
