Mostly alot of people here in esb don't agree with your fool comments. Knucklehead, collazo was available to fight berto but i guess berto and lou thinks otherwise and go for the easiest fighter possible. 2 month ago or 3 month ago there was talk of berto vs clottey for the ibf title but i bet berto told his promoter that he wants to face an easier opponent to win a paper title in which he did by beating rodriguez.
I see alot of people also fail to realize that its not Berto's nor Miki's fault or decision that this fight was for the WBC belt. There fight was allready signed and done b4 the belt became vacant, so to bust Berto's balls for winning a title is ignorant. Maybe the WBC didn't make the right choice but I don't understand why people dislike Berto at all. He's a very personable guy, he's pleasing to watch and he works hard to get to where he's at, what is there to not like about him??
Like I just said the belt wasn't even vacant at the time the fight was made so unless Berto and Rodriguez could see into the future your statement holds 0 ground
First, no, you and ONE OTHER jerkoff (who may or may not be you) disagree...as most people on this thread and the corresponding threads were quite impressed with Berto tonight. Second, you obviously have NO IDEA how a vacant title fight is put together. Third, again, this fight was made a vacant title fight after Floyd retired...making any discussion of Berto ducking anyone for an easier fight MOOT...considering when the fight was made, it was not looked at as a TITLE FIGHT! Fourth, the WBC (whether you or I agree with the rankings...which I dont...but I think your warped mind still thinks that I do) is not in the same league as the NABF or anything of that nature (paper titles)...its actually one of the more respected organizations out there (as respected as the crooked ass abc orgs can get I guess :hey ). And what it did was...when Floyd retired, made this fight for a vacant title....something EVERY org does when a champ retires. And again, how is ANY OF THIS BERTO'S FAULT????!?!?!????
I'll keep looking wrong until the guy faces a good fighter(which his management is taking its sweet ass time on), but I stand by what I've always said about Berto, even though I didn't see tonight's fight. He'll lose to any of the top WW's.
Bro, you know I respect the **** outta your opinion on here...but you REALLY need to go watch his last couple fights. He is improving by LEAPS and BOUNDS in each (as his opponents get steadily better as well). His defense is far impoved...his accuracy is phenominal (if you land over 60% of your power shots...I mean, WOW)...he can take a punch (still dont see why people question his chin)...he is fast as HOLY ****...he also seems like a standup kid. Do I consider him above Cotto, Margo or Williams....no...but against the next teir (including Mosely, Quintana, Clottey, Collazo, Judah, etc.) I would favor him against them all. The kid is growing into a DAMN good fighter. I know what you have said about him in the past...but trust me on this one...I mean, have I ever led you astray before....:hey
No matter what you think about tonight's fight--- the Fact is: IT ALL STARTS FROM NOW Berto holds the WBC title and his next fight will answer a lot of questions about wether he is deserving of that belt or not. I can't wait to see who the next challenger is..
Last time you questioned my opinion and said something like "I thought you were smarter than that" it was regarding the Calzaghe/Hopkins matchup. I guess you never led me astray though, as I didn't get sucked into that one. :bart Regarding Berto, according to fans on the first page, he didn't improve in this fight, so I doubt I'd see anything new. When he's facing guys who are about as offensive as a stump in Trabant, it's hard to be impressed, especially when he's a fighter who relies on his physical attributes and shows limits, which are the types of guys to look impressive against the tier he's fighting now, but get exposed at the top level. We'll just have to see.
Berto was very impressive tonight BUT I won't give him a chance against the top dogs like Cotto, Margarito and WIlliams. I would like to see him fight Quintana.
No I didnt....LOL! I sent you the link and you said it was an excellent analysis...but you didnt read too deep into it as you thought it might sway your opinion (and lets not forget, it was a HELL of alot closer than most felt...and I DID call the KD...it went EXACTLY the way I predicted...only a few rounds earlier than I thought it would happen...gotta give me SOOOOOME credit here :thumbsup )...but since it was awhile back, I will give ya a mulligan on your recolection. (but, as for the original comment...it was sarcasm bro...saaaarcasm :-( )
Wow! Your a hater. When I watch Berto I see an entertaining fighter who has all the talent to rise to the top of the division. His speed is on par with any of the welters and his power is second to none in the division. He can throw every punch and it's my opinion that he throws the BEST uppercut in boxing. Sure he hasn't shown to be a great defender but he has improved and tonight he did a good job of blocking punches as well as showing some allusiveness. Although I believe he isn't ready for the likes of Cotto or some of the other elites of the division, he certainly wouldn't be a walk in the park for any welter. By this time next year he'll be ready for anyone including Cotto.
