Was thinking the same thing. She looks like the MMA fighter Cris Cyborg who juices. Hopefully the girl can’t box as she looks a bit of a beast

I wouldnt watch 14 year old amateur boys box unless it was my own son. As women are about as athletically gifted as a 14 year old boy, I wont be watching them box either.

Absolutely pathetic that women are now on mens boxing cards. I switch off completely.

    I find it repulsive

Quite conflicted about it. I like that she gets some spotlight as it gets more women into the game and I'm not someone who particularly likes excluding anyone from a sport, particularly one I enjoy. Plus that's the only way we'll get better women boxers.
At the same time, I've absolutely no interest in any of her fights at all. Just don't find them that interesting. She's technically decent so there's that element to it, but the fights don't seem to have much in the way of drama and the skill isn't anywhere near as high still (in terms of talent pool). So, apathy I suppose.

I’ll only watch her when she fights the proper champion, some Belgian bird I think

Crikey. Somebody has been rejected by women a lot in their lives.

They're very odd statements. By all means, take it or leave it but shut up man.

Taylor is a fantastic fighter. Technically sound, all action. Lacks knockout power but so what. Many male boxers do too.

Katie is as game as they come. That woman will fight anyone, anywhere and if you can't respect that, you're a fool.

Women boxing needs a mike tyson sort of character; someone outspoken and knocks people out. People will not care about the lack of competition if they see a woman brutally knocking everybody in her division out in a devastating fashion. Katy Taylor kind of feels forced with everyone telling us how nice she is, people do not care about that.

Boxing is boxing & she’s a boxer with an enormous amount of skill. It’s like for like. That’s why we have different weights and now different sexes in boxing. Going by your logic - do you only watch the heavyweights? When you watched Warrington beat Shelby, did you think, yeah but you wouldnt last a minute against Joshua. Grow up.

Would you like to see your wife/girlfriend take punches in the face for a living?

If you would like that, it makes you weird mate. Sorry for pointing out the facts in this- I know its easier to say "go girls" and I am all for equality but we all know what you really think when it comes to your wife/girlfriend taking rights hands to the face.

Women’s boxing rounds need to be changed from 2 to 3 minute rounds, that way you will see the stoppages fly up.

I'd only be interested in watching split arses box if Tyan Booth was commentating.

When I looked at the weigh in, couldn't believe the differences in builds between them.

I have seen Taylor looking ragged before, it was against a strong but limited pressure fighter and in the later rounds. If I boxrec'd I'd see the fighters name.

If her opponent has any ability and is a pressure fighter it could be interesting, she also has a higher KO% but her record isn't great. If she lacks ability then Taylor should shoe-shine her way to a comfortable victory.

Yeah, but who else is there to match her skill level and give her competitive fights?

That's the biggest problem with womens boxing for me, the talent pool is too small. Not enough competitive matchups to make it interesting.

I respect womens right to box if they wish, I just don't have any interest in watching it myself.

Fair point, but it’s only been professional for a few years. Only by giving a little air time (& it really is isn’t much) can it grow. Women’s football was dominated by USA a few years back. Now, with a bit of publicity, it’s a good competitive sport with viewing figures expected to increase again for the upcoming World Cup. As for Taylor, she’s ahead of her time - but worthy of an audience to admire her skills.
