Solving this conundrum requires distinguishing between chin and overall defensive skills. For example, Crawford and Lomachenko have never been floored, but we don't have enough evidence to be able to say that either of them has a steel jaw; that's because they have excellent defense, and rarely allow powershots to land on their chins.

With the Garcias, it's a different story. Danny has good defense, but he allows powerpunchers to land plenty of shots on his chin (see the Kendall Holt, Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse and Shawn Porter fights).

Mikey is better at rolling with punches, and takes fewer powershots on the chin. He certainly has a steel jaw, but his defensive abilities have certainly assisted him in not getting floored.

In other words, Danny often just uses his chin as defense, and has nevertheless never been floored. I therefore think that Danny Garcia probably has the best chin, whereas Mikey Garcia has an excellent chin plus very good defense.

Two other fighters who deserve mention in this discussion are Saul Alvarez and Chris Eubank Jr.

Ruslan provodnikov makes danny garcias chin look like glass

RUSLAN took 1000 clean head shots from lucas without taking a step back

after the fight lucas took of his gloves to show the state of his hands with cuts and bruising he said "I never hit a man more then I hit this guy he has the hardest head"

on the other hand Garcia only took 4 clear head shots from lucas and seemed to be bothered by some of them and backed up and never went full forward against lucas

    Provodnikov chin is the best

As long as Golovkin is active nobody has a case for number 1 chin except Wach and maybe Canelo

Mikey didn`t roll with any shots against the bigger man compared to Canelo in his first bout v the bigger GGG, Khan didn`t land any power shots against Garcia he didn`t have a KO for years up to the LeGreco fight because of his damadged hand, LeGreco came after an operation on the hand.

Loma would do better v Garcia at 140 than Mikey did v Spence at welter.

It's hard to be an elite fighter (in today's boxing, usually means only losing a round or two per fight) and have a more proven chin than the types that have faced multiple other elites and stood up to their punches full force.
