This is a WBC flyweight title eliminator. Andrew Selby is the #1 and Julio César Martínez Aguilar the number 2 ranked contender by the WBC.

Selby is the most talented boxer from the UK I hope his career and talent isn't wasted.

Lets see if Selby is worth the hype of if this Mexican kid is a hidden gem (wins over Sosa, Tecuapetla and Ruiz suggest there's something there). First fight outside of the UK for Selby and only his second fight in like 18 months as well, dangerous to travel to face a puncher off some inactivity

    Round 1

Selby is circling very rapidly around Martínez, throwing quick jabs into his forearms and looping big rights around the guard. Now a switch in stance by Selby, inverting all of that - right jabs into the forearms, then big left hands looped into Martínez's ear. Selby keeps alternating back & forth, confusing Martínez, striking him with both hands from either stance, never ceasing his circular motion on the outside. Martínez frozen stiff as Selby dances around him in wide hemispherical motions, then cuts in, unloads a jab and chopping rear hand, darts out, takes a few quick lateral steps & resets, switching his lead foot & hand and starting over in a mirror of what he just did. Martínez completely befuddled, swatting at shadows. Martínez keeps raising and lowering his guard, on autopilot.

    10-9 Selby

Matador Vs Bull in round 1, Selby moving well, jabbing, using his skills, speed and size well. But Martinez looks dangerous and really up for it. Selby has always struggled to make opponents respect his power

edit: yep, been three minutes since I submitted my round 1 post, and I always do that right when the bell rings..

Are they not showing the whole fight or something? Or is this on tape delay and they're just going to cram a shit-ton of ads in between each round? Either way, fuck you Azteca!
