The British Boxing Board has scheduled a bout for the vacant British heavyweight title between Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois. This decision was followed by the abandonment of this title by Hughy Fury, which the Council had previously obliged to defend against Joyce. Promoter Dubois Frank Warren enthusiastically responded to this decision and said he was ready to begin negotiations with the Joyce team to conduct this fight in the summer. Joe Joyce holds the WBA Gold title and may refuse to fight for the British title in favor of a possible fight against WBA Regular champion Manuel Charr. In this case, it is expected that Nathan Gorman will be the second contender for the vacant British title.
