Wlad had such crisp power when he used it.

    I think I favour him 6 or 7 times out of 10

Mentally ill Trolling Grandad strikes again, Corrie Sanders was no middler!

anyway it's better to be a middler than a drop out like you were at medical school ;)

I did drop out of the Jazz soc in med school, how did you know? interesting..

he was but i agree in short term, a middler at HW would earn more than a doctor. Not in long run.

You'd also need to get into med school to become a doctor, proably harder from a poor background than reaching middler tier HW boxing, since med school costs thousands in america, a massive barrier for a poor person. Its clear u didnt think through your post at all.

I used to post on a much smaller Boxing forum that has now ceased because the owner could no longer afford to run it, but the place had a handful of ex-sparring partners of the past greats (proven too with pics and videos for bona fides). One guy used to spar Tyson in the early and mid 80s at the catskills and used to recall his Wife asking him how/why he's getting beat up every day by a 17 year old kid. And another was basically a go-to guy for all and sundry from the early 90s to mid 00s.

Anyway, of all the boxers he'd sparred (Holyfield, Old Foreman, Tua, Morrison, Buster Douglas, Lennox, Wlad, and countless others) he said Wlad had absolutely the most strength and power, and it wasn't even close. But that he wasn't the kind of guy, even in sparring, who'd get into a war and necessarily prove it.

He said that Wlad and Lennox were 2 of only 3 that outright KOd him in sparring in his nearly 20 years - Lennox with an uppercut and Wlad with a left hook (can't remember who the third was but it may have been Tua).

He was, however, of the opinion that Lennox beats Wlad on fighting intellect and the ability to adapt. But very, very close.

That fight should have happened in the early 2000's. Too bad Lennox avoided Klitschko and also called Sanders for instructions how to beat the young upcoming and inexperienced Wlad.

I linked that quote several years ago to heavyweightblog.com i Think the sites name very something like adjunger or so.

In todays era i Think Lewis would be competative against the other SHW's but this fights are hard to analyze because of the small sample size we have of skilled SHW's vs skilled SHW's.

And the further we go back the less 6'5 guys we have to look at.

However Lewis is definitely in my top 5 all time besides Vitali, Wlad, Joshua and Fury. Where i feel everybody can beat everybody on any given day.

RB too good on the inside Wlad can’t handle it. Wlad flops around the canvas before 12

There was no meaningful overlap between Lewis' and Wlad's careers.

By the time Lewis retired, Wlad was still a skinny, jabless streak of spaghetti getting KOd by Corey Sanders.

Any matchup between these 2 Gents is a hypothetical predicated on 96-99 Lewis and 2005 onwards Wlad.
