BJS - At one point he was maybe top 2/3 @160. His PED scandal, being out of shape/overweight, fighting weak opposition. Sucks cause dudes skilled

Zurdo - what a horrible run as a CHAMPEEN. Had a belt but fought no top 5 guys or bothered to unify... He was in a stacked division but no efforts to fight Callum or Benavidez or Caleb or Uzcat

Gary - He beat Jojo which was a good win. Hes more talented then any 126 BUT fights once a year. Also hearing he doesnt want to fight Leo. SmH. Should have capitalized on the Jojo win

Mikey - before the Spence loss people were talking about him as P4P #1 if he won. Boy what a horrible performance that dropped his stock BIG TIME. Sucks cause the Mexicans were riding with him he did good PPV #s for a debut. All that momentum gone he may NEVER fight on PPV again

I swear Arum is past his best and can't promote for s*** anymore. He has Zurdo who is a big undefeated Mexican, is good looking, and is charismatic in Spanish and hasn't done anything to make him into a star. Then you have Crawford who is arguably the best fighter in the planet fighting in one of the most popular divisions in boxing historically and I bet he could walk in any major city and not be recognized.

Then you have Haymon who has tunnel vision or something. He had Mikey Garcia, a Mexican American who panders to Mexicans, lives in southern Cali, comes from well known Garcia boxing family and was undefeated.

All this because these two promoters coddle and protect their fighters.

I don't think Mikey actually lost momentum. He lost a match he was supposed to lose, made a lot of money, upped his profile, and didn't get hurt. Really if you think about it Mikey has been getting a lot of opportunities for not going a lot if we're being real. Lipinets isn't experienced enough to prove anything, Robert Easter arguably should have JUST lost to Fortuna (could be wrong, don't remember. I think it was close) making his best recent win Broner who...isn't amazing. Garcia did that and ended up on a p4p list.

Zurdo disappoints me because I feel like in his position he could do a LOT more. Can you imagine Zurdo vs Benavidez at 168? THAT'S the fight right now **** everything else. But he wants to go to 175. Okay fine, fight Bivol, Beterbiev, Kovalev, Gvozdyk, hell start with Yarde. Take it slow, after Yarde go see Barrera Do SOMETHING. It sucks because I THINK he has the talent to make some moves but instead he's just...there.

Saunders completely ****ed himself. It's a shame because he was coming back. I feel like no one REALLY rated him until his Lem performance (which I think has a lot to do with styles) and now he's back in the same spot of people not really caring. You're definitely right about him.

I think with everything happening outside the ring and matches that people aren't excited about Gervonta Davis will lose a ton of momentum. I want to see him vs Tevin Farmer.

Zurdo needs to leave Top Rank and Mikey can still bounce back with a strong performance whenever he fights again.

How do you figure that Valdez lost (is losing?) momentum? I think he gained a lot of respect in the Quigg fight. I don't even think the protection argument works anymore because of that fight.

    Please
Guy has been champ forever and fought nobody. Same as zurdo. If these cats aren’t ready to fight the top guys don’t give them a belt.
Valdez next fight should be frampton minimum. Very winnable fight for him.

Zurdo is a good one. I was real excited about him some time ago and....nothing really happened.

Keith Thurman has to be no 1 completely lost his drive, I suspect he is out of his prime now and is on the slide too thanks to inactivity. The Charlo twins have been as quiet as a church mouse since their underwhelming performances.

GRJ is particularly frustrating. So many good fights out for him...no idea why he only fights once a year. He looks damn good, then hibernates again until the next one.

His nickname should be Gary "the cicada" Russell Jr

Zurdo can pick up momentun this year, if he's that good anyway. He didnt show he's anything great so far. Can he win aginst Kovalev or Beterbiev ? Maybe but I dont think he beats The Nail though

Supposedly he has no love for boxing, only does it for the money. I bet if Haymon wasn't paying him so well, he would have quit a long time ago.
He has had to deal with injuries for a very long time now. And constant injuries are enough to deter someone from continuing with their career.

Russell has the right idea here. Get in, make money, get out.
    Official purses:
    Loma - 420k
    Gonzales - 350k
    Hyland - 800k
Escadon - ? Couldn't find ****, wasn't bothered to dig deep anyhow. I imagine it was at least 500k
    Diaz - 1.4mil

Let's say he managed to keep 1/3 of that, he should be set for life. Buy a solid house, maybe invest a little. It doesn't seem like Russell is a big spender either.
