Golovkin's first DAZN fight ... the winner of The Contender (Brandon Adams)

Once again Golovkin is choosing someone he has sparred before (Adams was his sparring partner for one of the Golovkin’s fights earlier on) and he knows he can beat. I’m sure he had sparred Martirosyan before their fight in 2018, so the situation then and now is quite similar – minimal risk before a big money fight later on.

I really dont hold this against GGG. he achieved the Mayweather standard, he ****ed boxing more than it ****ed him. Thats rare.

I dont even think he wants Canelo again, but it has to be HARD to walk away from $75 million.

Wouldnt go that far, i think GGG can fight, but his career is.. disappoonting. MUCH worse are his fans though.

Nah, loaded dice Ward was serious about wanting some of GGG... As long as the fight was in Jokeland, with four American officials, at 168 with no time to get used to the weight and he got the lion's share of the purse despite not being able to draw flies to s**t!

Ho-hum. Fight is obviously a warm up for Canelo. I'll watch it though. If GGG struggles in any way with him then it could be the indication that Father Time has finally whupped him.

 

From where he came from, I can't even knock it either. As you said, this isn't a sport where the fighter leaving with the last laugh happens much.

That is just the optimistic GGG fan in me being disappointed that the hungry days of him fighting 3-4 times a year to prove a point are over. Really wanted to see him get total unification and big fights when he was a little younger
