IFL have just uploaded a video with Hearn saying that’s the fight he wants for Callum next... That’s an entertaining fight!

    Who you got??

I got to go with Johnson I think he’s actually all round the better boxer and on the power front I think maybe joe has more one punch power but Johnson has more power in combinations and in both fists.

Smith is tough but I can see his corner throwing in the towel also he’s susceptibile to having his chin broken lol.

Didn't Beterbiev catch Johnson on the inside? That is where Smith is most dangerous. (Something the ref took away from him vs Bivol)
Johnson is the better boxer but he might not want to stick to Smith the way he did to Beterbiev. Could end up the same way again.

Fun fight, hope it gets made.

Yeah one other issue is Johnson’s gas tank he hasn’t gone 10 rounds before and if he goes in just looking to blow smith out it could back fire, I think Johnson’s best game plan would be to pick his moments look to break down smith in a more tactical way than just seek and destroy.

I think Johnson takes this, both can bang but I feel Callum’s work is slightly more refined, would be a big statement if he can take Joe out

Saying that, Smith is one of/the biggest puncher in the division and Johnson won’t be running. Hope we get this fight

Joe Smith Jr. by KO. Smith is looking better every fight and he made that Soviet everyone was cheering for last fight look like pure dog **** and they robbed him. Joe The Hammer will definitely beat this dude into a canvass nap.

I'm amputate my mothers legs for this fight , Smith can take out anyone with his power but I think Johnson just has a bit too much skill for him , either way this one won't go the distance , I can't be alone in thinking this could be FOTY candidate

Johnson will beat the tar out of Smith with those anvil fists of his and send him back to his back-breaking nine-to-five on the construction sites. And you can take that directly to the bank. :deal:

Taking it to and standing and trading with the most fearsome puncher in the division and arguably in the entire sport

Probably THE best fight that can be made in boxing at the moment. Love both these guys, and I know one thing, this wouldn't be another sanctioned professional boxing match -- it would be a straight up declaration of war with a clear winner between two warriors. MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a really fun fight. If they got this on the AJ card it could really put both guys in the spotlight to the casuals. I think Johnson takes it as he is slightly better all round and also is slightly fresher than Smith.

For what it's worth , can anybody think of another potential match up this exciting in terms of come forward, attack minded boxers ? Light heavy has the best possibilities for excitement, without a doubt

As a huge fan of Callum and Joe, I HATE this fight. I have no desire to see it. Not because I don't WANT to see it, but because of the implications of the outcome. If this were 20 or 30 years ago, who cares, both of them could take a KO loss, and come back a few months later and bounce back totally unaffected, because that's the kind of fan friendly fighters they are. The same thing Rosado and Lemieux have been doing for the last few years, which means its not the end of the world for them, but still the incessant chatter on message boards, an denigrating of fighters for taking an L, and idiotic fans who seem to think its the end of the world when someone loses, make guys apprehensive to take fights like this. Because guess what, when one of these guys ts KTFO, they'll be subject to that chatter, called a bum, most will probably say they're dine and should retire. If the typical idiot fanboy reactions could be suspended for this fight, I'd be gung ho, all in for it, but because they won't be. It makes me dread the outcome of matches like this, when I should be thrilled by it.

As far as the actual fight goes, it could go either way, stylistically it favors Smith, Callu needs to be cognizant of the fact that there's a possibility that Joe hits every bit as hard as Beterbiev, maybe hard, and bumrushing him could prove very costly. Although the reverse is also true for Joe. Its a genuine 50/50, whoever lands the first bomb can win type of fight.
