Price was petrified to let his hands go full pelt He is never gonna win fights any other way He is hardly going to notch up some points wins now is he Just keep him on free TV and I'm content PPV is taking the mick however
Price's win however it came about earns him another decent ish pay day. If he can get past Browne or Allen (is everyone assuming Allen wins V Lucas?) then you watch him get throw in as a make time for fight for someone with a name or even worse a belt. He's done though isn't he. I always wondered what emanuel steward would have done with him. Could he have turned him into a world class fighter? I didn't think he looked in great shape at the weigh in and his stamina has always been trash. He really hasn't got many fights left in him. Best he can hope for is a British title run at this point but it's by no means a given
Ali threw the fight away. Not saying he definitely would have won but in round 5 Price was noticeably gassing and Ali landed some shots that effected Price. As soon as Price hurt Ali though, Ali wanted out. If Ali actually toughed it out instead of quitting the fight was winnable.
Allen can also work at reasonably decent pace for a chubby heavyweight at this level which is more bad news for Price. Ali is a slow plodder with very low output, all he did for the first 3 rounds was come forward in straight lines from a high guard occasionally throwing the odd jab to the body. And Price still started gassing badly which is just shocking really. Allen has gone the distance with Whyte, 7 rounds with Ortiz and 10 rounds with Yoka, so making it past the 4th with Price shouldn't be a problem, which is all he has to do to pretty much guarantee a stoppage win.
In all fairness, Ali was not throwing "random" jabs to the body, they were calculated, tactical jabs. He landed a fair few in the exact same spot, in the exact same location on the body with success. Dave Allen is tough, but he still likes to defend punches with his face.
No cash for Kash (-£20.000), and he got his license suspended by the BBBoC. That bites! Paying the price for biting Price.
Farce of a fight. If Pricey had just let his hands go, it wouldn't have gone past the 1st. He is damaged beyond repair. Like Audley Harrison, he just doesn't have the stomach (or conditioning, or chin) for a fight.
Stick him in with winner of Allen-Browne. He's been done for a while but to be honest he never really 'was'
Kash Ali was getting 20k for that fight so presumably Price was getting more for fighting what was a leisure centre fighter. You’d bag as many of them as you could get away with before you hang the gloves up surely?
The only time David Price should be on live TV is if the "New" Roadman Dave goes on a rampage, tearing through his local Tesco, smashing things and taking hostages and Sky News covers it "Live from the scene.." If it isn't that, then Price shouldn't be anywhere near live TV. Price is a joke, he is worse than Audley Harrison, he really is in my opinion, Price may well have beaten up a frazzled old battered Harrison but Audley won more, achieved more and took his beats like a MAN. Audley didn't quit on his stool or bend over the ropes and fold, AH just got knocked out or stopped, he was shocking but he didn't just fold like Price does. And Audley had the decency to retire. That's what a ridiculous joke Price is, I am seriously considering terminating my Sky Sports subscription simply because I'm sick of the crap they are serving me from the Boxing department, it's now getting a pee take. Adam Smith needs sacking in my opinion, he OK's this crap, he commentates on his "Friends" and is bias and deluded. Even Bet365 were ripping Sky Sports Boxing Saturday night, Something like "Fitzgerald lands shots.. Sky Comms "Great work by Fowler" That's how bad it is now, a national bookmaker is taking the pee, it's not just Price, it's Sky Sports Boxing from top to bottom, Price is just the symbol of what is wrong with Sky Sports Boxing and it's a "jobs and favours for the lads" mentality.
I like Pricey Then again I like all the comedy figures in boxing. I did enjoy the angry Price at the press conference, would like to see more of that.
I was listening to the Fight Disciples earlier and I agreed with their assessment. Kash went into sparring mode and lost the first 4 rounds so basically closed up making it hard for Price to land clean whilst throwing little in return. Price was quite happy taking his foot off the peddle and inviting Kash onto him as he had more chance of Kash opening up and Pricey catching him clean.
