When does Mikey ever take a risk? Not his style. He's a smart boxer but he found out that a much stronger guy can nullify your skill real easily.

His comment is more valid than anything you've said regarding the fight.

It was a joke of a fight, likely a scam, and anyone who passed up on paying for this fight was smart.

Oh come on its just something weve seen before in this sport, somebody goes up a weight or 2 too far and the size difference is just too much for them. On this occasion Spence kept him at the end of his jab all night. Garcia had a choice, commit suicide by trying to do something or be patient on the outside and lose without getting beaten to a pulp and knocked out.

I suppose we could say he wanted the fight he should of committed suicide trying to get a result but i saw him pushing on a couple of times and it didnt end too well for him. The fight should never of happened, it was a pointless event all round, a complete waste of time. I still see Garcia as a better fighter than Spence P4P but Spence is also a very good fighter, the gap between them in quality is not even to of covered the gulf in size difference.

We can finally agree on something.

 

The only reason why I was somewhat excited about the fight was because I wanted to see if Mikey was being sincere and was going to give it his all, but I also had the expectation that it would just be an act. I made a couple posts days before the fight saying that I thought Spence would carry Mikey. I felt that way because the entire lead up to the fight seemed odd, from them always being about 2-3 ft apart in the promotions when facing off, to Mikey doing all this talking, to the almost excessive promotion really trying to convince the fans it was a legit fight. I felt Haymom coached these guys.

Fortunately for me my family has a long tradition of getting the May and Sept PPV fights regardless of who is fighting, so it never feels like a rip off.

 

If you arent willing to go out on your shield in the most important fight of your career, you're in the wrong sport.

No one forced mikey to call out spence. No one had a gun to his head and made him become a boxer. In fact, his own trainer kept trying to change his mind. Mikey insisted on making the fight with an undefeated champion 1 weight class above and made zero effort to prove himself after all his bravado and bold words. And he got paid millions of dollars. He shouldn't get any respect for that quit job.

 

I don’t need to see these guys getting permanently damaged for my entertainment. Mikey was in over his head calling out Spence. He lost and now he can move on. I’ll tell u I wish Kell Brook did the same thing against GGG but now his days as an elite are over just so he could say he won 3 rounds against him.

 

And this is why the sport is dying and people put their nostalgia goggles on. Instead of getting fights like hagler hearns people like you approve of guys like mikey garcia and nicholas walters quitting.

I do agree he should have stayed in his own weight class if he didnt have the stomach to hang with the big boys.

 

No whats killing the sport is fights we want not being made. No one asked for Mikey vs Spence. We wanted him to fight Lomachenko and Spence to fight Crawford but guess what we are probably not going to get either.
