The greatest win. I cannot say one. But superhuman effort and superhuman result..
Something like Hagler vs. Hearns. Leonard vs. Hagler. Pryor vs. Arguello Ali vs. Liston Ali vs. Foreman. Holyfield Tyson Some great wins are Carbajal over Gonzales. Surprising he won the two other fights with Humberto boxing. Although maybe Ali vs. Foreman is not that fight. Foreman was not too experienced either. So on the Leonard criteria, I will eliminate that one.

I mean whatever happened to the advantage of youth? Being a young fresh guy certainly has its advantages wouldn't you say?

I always saw the experienced proven guy who slipped a little significantly tougher than the young inexperienced guy who seems to have a future in front of him. They have been around and know what it is to be in the fight for the whole fight.

conspiracy theories dont have the concrete evidence of footage. that's why they stay theories!

the video slows down and counts the scoring blows, and then disregards misses, cuffs, grazes, blocked punches, illegal low blows, and anything thrown after the bell. Then, they are tallied up for each fighter

and the rules of boxing say that the winner on points is the one who wins the most number of rounds, and so going by the rules, that winner was Hagler

and it finally settled the question of who won that fight with Marvin winning 10 of the 12 rounds

Hagler was the best, and Ray was second best that night

Greatest win in boxing history is Douglas Tyson. Douglas won when it counted the most

Wasn't Toney unbeaten in 50 fights and top 2 P4P when Roy dominated him? That is a great great win. Guess some will say Toney was weight drained though.

MAG's criteria for the best fight ever.... '"A superhuman effort and result"... Odd, that sounds like a decent description of Duran vs. SRL 1. But instead, he believes a 3 round fight (Hagler vs. Hearns) is more qualified than a 15 round war.

Yes because Hagler and Hearns were the two best fighters in boxing at the time. As far as I remember. Spinks was up there, but debatable issue there. The fact is Hagler had to change his style and fight more aggressively and take punches and get rocked and hurt and cut and keep coming. To me he put on an effort and changed things to be great. Duran fought a guy who did not have the mental experience yet to deal with a top fighter who insulted his wife, and that diminishes Duran's win as well as it was a close fight and Ray was not knocked out. Ray had only defended his first title one time. He was not yet solid champion. I don't care if he won gold. So did Tyrell Biggs. Didn't Andrew Maynard? Then the second fight Ray dominated him and sort of outclassed Duran-made him quit. When does that happen. I think the second fight has more greatest win ever than the first.

    LOL
**** man. Fukn delusional and in denial. Guys, Duran only won because he insulted Ray's wife. Totally diminishes the victory and also the SRL fight with another all time great in Benitez means nada.

It means something Wilfred is one of my favorite fighters. And I always say Ray is top 10 and probably top 5 because he beat the other 4 guys. With Wilfred, Ray in the end in that one gutted it out the last few rounds and stopped Benitez. He was quick and could nullify the speed of Benitez when most guy except Hearns, could not. "Guys, Duran only won because he insulted Ray's wife" So you need these guys backing to give you strength? They will agree with you, but that does not matter. They are wrong if they think Duran would beat Ray again. Maybe on a fluke punch, but 10 out of 10 times I think Ray wins.
Ray fought Duran's fight and hung in there for 15 rounds with a guy who was solid at welterweight. I will have the opinion no one else has and take on the whole message board when I believe something because I know Duran's win over Ray is not the greatest, and Ray fought his fight in the first fight. The second fight proves Ray was the greater fighter. And the third, but in that one Duran gets the age excuse, as though Ray was young in Dec. of 1989. Compare the two fights. Put them side by side and see the difference in Leonard. I went to some site a few years ago and put both fights side by side, but I am not going to do it anymore. You guys have to do it yourself if you really care about the issue.

How was Duran's effort superhuman? Ray gave him the fight he wanted. All Duran had to do was fight and do what he always did. Yet he couldn't stop Ray. And fact is Ray got a TKO in the rematch. I keep saying the same thing here as I have for years and you guys keep saying the same responses.
