He could go all the way to the top. Hope he gets the right team around him.

......before getting brutally stopped, Marty. That's what you're saying right?

They're really pushing the conlon nikitin rematch. To be honest a lot of the interest is gone out of the fight at this stage. Conlon has been lackluster as a pro...and nikitin if anything has regressed since rio. Nikitin has really flopped as a pro. Hasn't transitioned well at all.

I know. So did I ....goes to show the VAST gulf between being a top am and a top pro. Succes as an am does not guarantee success as a pro....conlon lhas no punch and lacks ring savvy. Nikitin is just a crude neanderthal slugger, a poor man's provodnikov. Sorry but those are the facts to be blunt. Conlon might at least fight for a title, nikitin probably disappears without a trace....

Think Conlan comfortably beats any version of Nikitin but this version is coming off 350+ amateur fights as a pressure fighter. He's left his prime days in the amateurs. I think Conlan will stop him when they do fight which realistically does wonders for Conlan's rep as Mick has stunk the place out a few too many times already.

Boxing has taken him all over the world. He's seen lots of new countries. He gonna see even further tonight, ...stars!

Seriously wish him all the best.

So are we all ready to celebrate the next Irish-Australian world champion?

    I hope so.

I think Mexican Mungo will be very dangerous early but if Hogan can navigate the first few without being decapitated, he could do something.

I can't fault his preparation & he will work hard for the full three minutes of every round.

They both medalled at every major tournament, it's unbelievable really. Does show you that's even though it's both boxing it's two different sports, I like the comparison of it with 5 a side football and 11 a side football, some are good at both, some are only good at one.

I still think Conlan can maybe sneak a world title, and I still have some hope that he can improve- he's a winner and works hard, so he'll give it his best shot and he has the top promoter backing him. But he's not gonna be the guy I thought he'd be, I thought he'd have similar success to Carl Frampton, but no way. Nikitin like you said will disapear without a trace, he looks awful as a pro, Arum just signed him for the Conlan fight they'll make that fight then he'll never appear on a Top Rank show again, and he'll probably never fight again unless he wants to be a journeyman.

Looks like Hogan got shafted last night in Mexico , unlucky.
Good call by the Australian posters who came on here, maybe Hogan is the real McCoy after all.

Hogan won it clearly in my view.

He fought his fight & had Mexican Mungo swinging & missing wildly while countering him effectively & consistently throughout the fight.

Hopefully Mungo moves up in weight & Hogan is given a direct shot at the vacant title.

He should already be the owner of it.
