I really need to watch the fight, there's a lot of uproar about it, and for Munguia to have arguably lost to a guy that appears to be the same height and size of most JWWs, that's very telling about lack of skillset and the fact that his size advantages aren't gonna work against the top JMWs and especially MWs. Or is Hogan that good? Never seen him.

No. Hogan isn't that good. He's tough and awkward but he was dominated by Culcay and arguably beaten by Brunson. Munguia is a guy who is pretty much all size and power. His boxing skills are probably B or C level. Not even close to the elite. Once he moves up and facing bigger guys at 160 he's getting KTFO or outboxed easily. At 154 he has the big big size advantage, that's it. I called the upset vs. Ali and said Munguia is simply too big for him at 154 (Ali natural 147) and i was right but Munguia skillwise isn't anything special. B or C level fighter. He'll still beat all those smaller guys at 154 and overcomes his flaws with size and power like he did vs. Inoue, Cook or Ali. The win vs. Smith was decent though although i don't think Smith was nearly 100% and still made it close. He needs to change a lot if he wants to become an elite fighter, he lacks footwork, a consistent jab and defensive skills like upper body movement (head movement). He's eating too many shots. I think you can see that he lacks a long and solid amateur background as he lacks those fundamentals you learn at younger age. He's just one of those Mexican sluggers so far with big size.

Waleska Roldan is becoming one of the worst judges in boxing, some of her cards are as followed:

    117-111 for Horn against Pacquiao
    76-74 for Browne vs Kalajdzic
75-76 for Groves vs Froch I (at time of stoppage)
    116-112 - Munguia vs Hogan

agree totally about Munguia, disagree about Hogan, Hogan showed a lot of ring craft in that fight, footwork in early rounds was great without being showy to take rounds on generalship alone, lost rounds through early half, came back later half with good timing and countering, dominated the last rounds except last.
overall a good gritty and technical performance over a weight advantaged but basic fighter in Munguia

I only said Hogan isn't that good. He isn't A level though. He is solid crafty tough awkward guy who always comes to fight. Furthermore he adapted the style of his new coach (same coach as Jeff Horn) and that makes him even more awkward. But i think we both agree on the fact that he isn't a Top 10 guy at 154 right now although the division is pretty **** in depth.

That doesn't mean he doesn't currently deserve to hold the world title he earned. Lots of guys wear ABC belts that in truth aren't top 15 h2h in their division.

    Hogan is a classic overachiever.

Had it 115-113 to Hogan. Had Munguia up 4-2 after the first 6 and then only had Munguia winning the 12th after that and even that was a close round. If anything, I felt Hogan could have won by more.

You know people blame the judges alone for these ludicrous scorecards But I think its more The State Commissions & promoters "persueding" them to score the way they do. If you want to keep getting the prime fights vote like we tell you , Tell me have you ever seen judge be made to explain thir scorecards
The only one I remember lately was C.J.ROSS & that was because she scored against the cash cow. They ended up firing her yet others like Adelaide Byrd
Dave Moretti 's 118-110 equally ludicrous cards are overlooked

The only way to beat a GBP fighter is to knock them out.

Dude, have you guys not seen the news on this regarding the post fight drug testing? There was none. They are just going to give Mungia a pass. Hogan's team is asking where the testers were while GBP runs for the hills. Not one peep from Oscar. This is despicable from Golden Boy and the WBO. Mungia's team was also cheating by sneaking the scoring and relaying it to their fighter among other distasteful things they did.
