Rocky Marciano had fought Don Cokkell in London instead of San Francisco?
Would he have been DSQ'd and Cokkel crowned Champion?

Max Baer had turned up focused and in shape for Jim Braddock?

Max Schmeling had gotten that shot at Braddock's crown instead of Joe Louis ,would he have become the first man to regain the title?

The Marciano v Walcott 2nd fight hadn't been postponed due to Rocky sustaining ruptured blood vessels in his right nostril,[courtesy of sparring partner Tommy Harrison]?
Reports said Marciano had looked flat and listless in training,[ he sparred 225 rounds and ran over 450 miles in training],Wacott in contrast was said to be looking excellent ,fit and sharp .After the lay off, Marciano appeared rejuvenated and eager.
Dan Florio, Walcott's trainer admitted later the postponement hurt Walcott ,would the result have ben any different had the fight gone off on schedule ,ie would Jersey Joe have done better?

What do you think, any changes?

Schmeling would have easily beaten Braddock.

I think he would have beaten him, I'm not so sure it would have been that easy.

I think Rocky would have lost the title on DQ. Rightfully so. Whats the point of having rules? Marciano was always very apologetic after the fight about hitting after the bell or on the break. Saying it was unintentional.

    IDK
I think Marciano was one of the dirtiest fighters that came along. Overall for his career.

Marciano may well indeed have been disqualified. Rocky would easily have won the quick rematch.

Could Braddock have beaten Schmelling ? Unlikely.

Would a more focused Baer have beaten Braddock. A 50/50 one in my book.

No way Marciano gets disqualified especially if he started getting points taken away the fouls most likely would have stopped. Plus he was the champion they usually get away with more shenanigans.

I don’t think Schmeling easily beats Braddock...I guess the slight favorite

I think Braddock beat Baer fair and all if Baer didn’t show up in shape that’s on him. I hate that excuse. You have one job be ready for it!

I think Marciano beats Walcott anytime after that brutal KO. His chin was already bad had he continihed fighting it would have been much worse. Maybe it goes two rounds instead of one

I don't think Marciano would be DQ'd, as Gazelle said above, usually the champ gets some leeway. I have to admit the Cockell fight was probably Marciano's dirtiest fight. If Marciano HAD been DQ'd then there would be public outrage and it would be questioned if Cockell was a legitimate champ after Marciano kills him in the rematch

A completely focused, dedicated Baer (which was rare to see), would stop Braddock in the late rounds after an early war

Braddock would beat Schmeling by a close and questionable SD/UD. Schmeling was already going down hill at that point

Walcott would've been knocked out in rounds 3-7 in the rematch instead

I rate Braddock higher than a lot of people.

I think he'd have given Baer a hard fight, but probably not have won.

I don't think it's impossible he'd have beaten Schemling, though Schemling ought to be picked.

If you butt, hit after the bell ,on the break, and when an opponent is down in the UK, you are getting chucked out of the ring no matter who you are!

    Not in big fights.

Savold didn’t get chucked out against woodcock did he? And He butted Bruce.

And They were in no rush to stop fights any early in England either. Poor Freddie Mills took a frightful shellacking from Gus Lesnevich in London.

Rocky was rough. I don’t think anybody thinks he couldn’t beat Cokkell without fouling.

Marciano was pretty dirty against Charles butting him and heeling him in the face in their second fight. I think He lost a round against Lastarza. He hit Walcott when he was down. Hit Moore after the bell. I’m not sure Rocky was any worse with Cokkell.
