No wonder Crawford was ****** off. He probably thought a convincing stoppage of Khan would put him at the top of the P4P list, but obviously Khan has took all the shine away from it. Not many are talking about how sublime Crawford was last night...switching stances, timing Khan. Won all 5 rounds for me.

He was an exciting, quality fighter a few years ago and he’s done himself proud, but I have no interest in watching him fight again.

 

If you’re going to quit at least do it with some integrity and sincerity instead of that charade. It’s disrespectful to Crawford and the paying fans that’s deserve at least an honest performance

I get what your saying, but personally, I spent the whole fight praying that Khan didn’t have to take another stone cold KO and was hoping for something milder like a body shot finish or something.

Khan has showed unbelievable courage throughout his career- he got out of this without being badly hurt, which to me out-weights the feelings of the customers who had to know that he had zero chance of winning the fight beforehand.

 

Khan's name needs to stopped being mentioned on these forums.

 

But...but what about the epic Khan vs Brook PPV which totally isn't part it's sell by date?

 

The weird thing is that some call for a DQ while according to the rules there's no reason for that at all.
If it had been clearly deliberate, then there's option to call for a disqualification if he couldn't recover within the 5 minute time period. And then there still are cases in which a NC is called (look at Rigo vs Flores).
If it's not deliberate (it didn't look it at all) then if someone can't continue after 5 minutes it's customary to go to the scorecards, which obviously meant Khan would 100% lose by UD in this case, and if they didn't make use of the 5 minutes it's either scorecards anyway or TKO.

Of course the home/featured fighter is at a huge advantage in cases like this because they can "accidentally" make the wrong call, See Dirrell vs Uzcat I and again Rigo vs Flores for instance.
This isn't a case like RJJ vs Griffin I where they couldn't do anything else but to disqualify the featured fighter at the verge of knocking out his opponent. This was an accident, which wasn't even right in the nuts, as it looked when it happened but largely on the right upper leg. Pretty sure he felt it in his groin and he might legitimately not have been able to continue in a competitive fashion (not that it was very competitive before that), so I don't hold that against him. But he should have taken the full 5 minutes and decide then, instead of forcing their hands trying to get a bogus DQ call as it seemed.

 

I’m thinking Khan probably had half an eye on the much awaited Khan vs Brook ... now rescheduled for Brentwood Leisure Centre (!)

 

Trying to save his marketability for his next ppv fight id guess!
