Usyk vs Joshua just gets bigger and bigger AFTER Usyk's heavyweight debut and subsequent fights, that's because he's the unified Cruiserweight champion and potentially a very big player in the Heavyweight division. There is no way Ortiz himself to turn down 5mil. His team probably lied to him or promised him some big fights with a lot of money involved but then again ...he will never get 5mil from other fight. Somebody is lying either Haymon or Hearn but Ortiz is not a coward and needs the money, thats for sure. Hearn never wanted that fight for AJ from the start as well, back then when Ortiz was mandatory and signed with PBC then he got Wilder shot instead for only 500k.
I can't wait to see Joshua vs Usyk but, I can wait until Usyk has become fully acclimatised at the weight, has increased his profile further by beating up a few fringe/ top 10 contenders which could then turn it into potentially one of the biggest fights in recent boxing history. And guess what? That's what Joshua, Usyk and Hearn will want to happen aswell prior to them meeting up. Arguably the best Cruiserweight ever, Evander Holyfield didn't go looking to fight a Lennox Lewis or Mike Tyson or Riddick Bowe'esque type fighter in his Heavyweight debut and neither will or SHOULD Usyk.
