I was taking a breather after coming back from a run and my old man was boxing on the bag at my old house, he was doing some real nice combos with lead to the body (or lower/higher part of the bag) and to the head, and doing some holding and short shots which he said was infighting. He then started to slow down and I asked if he was alright he said "yeah, I'm just pacing myself" he then started to showboat (to a bag) and start to taunt it. I specifically remember him saying "shut up *****, come here, hit me, hit me!" Then he started doing some exaggerated uppercuts and spinning the bag, he unloaded a ridiculous amount of his hardest punches on the bag. Then pushed it back and swung, he did this and missed as the bag swung back. He was knock back whilst of balance and fell over. To which he got back up and kicked it really hard. But we had bricks at the bottom and he broke his toe

The other time was when I was at my gym and me and my friend Ryan had a competition who would win in a sparring match a week from the bet. We both backed ourselves, obviously. And he we wanted no head pads, I agreed and we had 3, 2min, rounds of sparring.
He is 3/4 inches taller than me and has a longer reach. He doesn't do actual boxing tho, he just uses it to get fit.
Basically we both fought these 3 rounds and our coach was messing with us and said he scored 27-27, so we kept going and eventually I won but only after 11 long rounds which neither of us could do or had done before and I haven't done even 5 since.
He was messing with us saying we were both doing so bad that he couldn't set us apart. We both kept on fighting until one of fell over, he used to tell us to never quit and always stick it out till the end. I did this to the best of my ability but in the 11th round (which I wasn't even throwing punches, just walking away from him) he was trying to low blow me. So I stepped forward with a half uppercut, which was really a push. He fell back and I won on the fact he fell over and it allowed because of the low blow. Karma is a *****, after all that work he put in he lost anyway. A real Bowe-Golata story

I used to do some boxing at a local gym and there was a female that always trained with us and she was training for the golden gloves (she won in NY think 2009). Well it was funny because whenever we got a new member dying to spar the first one they’d go against was her...she fought very similar to Frazier and it was quite funny watching to there surprise as they were floored by a girl or had their noses busted.

I got to watch a couple of local guys start off as amauter fighters that blossomed into world champions. I saw Corey Spinks, Terron Millett and Devon Alexander's careers develop from talented teenagers that fought at afternoon smokers to guys fighting for belts in large arenas's. Really cool to see guys start from the bottom and earn there way to becoming champions.
