He probably thinks if he beats Wilder in the rematch he gets a huge unification fight with AJ for even more money. That's a pretty risky move though

Ortiz did well against Wilder but let's face it in a rematch Wilder probably KOs him again. You would have to think that Ortiz has declined since the first fight.

So basically there are two fights, both come with getting stopped, except one of those fights comes with pocketing 5 mill. I know which one I would go for.

Is there any guarantee that its Ortiz v Wilder next. Is that fight people want to see, will it do good ppv. It just seems unrealistic.

You don't just walk away from Don Haymon, and the bomb squad.

Jay Jimenez - Ortiz's manager has just been on Tha Boxing Voice saying that they wanted the fight and the promoter was the one that turned down the offer on Ortiz's behalf. Says Ortiz is upset that this was turned down as they have been told the promoter would get them more money but they were happy with what was on the table.

Sounds like Ortiz's camp is now backtracking and has been misadvised by his promoter who ever that is??

The promoter told Jimenez that there was an open chequebook and he was working on a another deal that would pay him the same money, which he is saying they believe is the Wilder fight. But Jimenez does not believe that fight gets Ortiz the same payday as the AJ fight.

On top of this he will not name who is his promoter that is not allowing him to fight and is telling him he will make the same money for other fights. However when asked the question why are you paying Haymon to advise if you will not call him to advise you. He tried to ignore and get around the question. Sounds like Haymon has something to do with the promoter.
