He’s brilliant but just lacks power. Lopez is quality too though, hopefully for Luke’s sake he avoids him.
Yeah I also don’t think he has the best chin so Lopez would be really dangerous fight for him but he’s also capable of outboxing Lopez and still has decent pop himself. he’s classy and really seems to be improving. I would put money on him beating Haney on points.
If it’s Lopez then I think Campbell will have to wait for another opportunity to win a world title cos he’ll be getting beat. I seriously rate that kid, fantastic skills.
Aye me too. He really does look like the real deal. Tatli was a solid win, now he just needs a win another level above to prove himself as one of the main players in the division. I think he'd beat Campbell as well which would be a very good win, as Campbell is a very good boxer himself. I could see him having some success against Lopez, but I think Lopez would would hurt Campbell at some stage, jump on him and close the show. Or maybe if he lands the same straight right to the body that he did against Tatli then he could end it with one punch. That was a beauty. I heard him saying he doesn't have many fights left at lightweight and will be moving up to light welter. I'm already dreaming of a Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez match in the future!
I agree with every word. Campbell is a class operator and I really hope he can pick up a title but that 135 (and 140 and 147) division is just unreal for talent. I think in Lopez we are seeing the emergence of a future P4P top 5 fighter.
I think it will be someone in the top 10 but not those guys. WBC generally don't mind sanctioning soft touches if they favour a certain guy or promoter - in this instance it'll either be Lopez getting a shot if he wants it, or if he doesn't then it'll be Campbell. They'll probably let him have a vacant title fight against someone like Fortuna (#5), Pedraza (#7) or even if they want to be cheeky (and sell the fight in the UK) you'll see Patera get a boost up from his spot at #11 into the top 10 before the fight.
Lopez looks excellent, no doubt, but he's still fighting below world level (albeit looking very good, but not faultless). I remember the buzz Lubin had until he fought at the world stage at - I think - a similar if not the same age. Lopez would be favorite against Campbell most likely but I don't think it's a done deal at all
If Luke Campbell manages to get a world title it will be one of Britain's best achievements this decade. We had so many paper champions but all Campbell's options are very tough.
Take the best 5 options out of the equation and Campbell might have a chance but that doesn't make it special by any means pretty much another isufi Isuferson knock over job
