Robbie Allen - faked injury. Chad Dawson - was getting his ass kicked and through in the head butt. Smith Jnr - Could have gotten back in the ring, then complained about it afterwards. Its not just sitting on a stool that shows the quit in you , Bernard quits when it gets hard. He also tried it with Calzaghe.
Respect to everyone mentioning my boy Danny Williams, he showed the heart of a lion that night. Always gets me a bit emotional now tho, I remember it like yesterday but so much has changed in life. I hate getting older!
Dave Maculey vs Fidel Bassa (1st fight). Rocky like stuff - unkown overseas boxer gets boo'd by the Irish crowd on the way in to the fight vs their local boy, but listen to the cheers for him at the end as he's earned the crowd's respect. (And as someone else mentioned) Nigel Benn vs Gerald Mc but that is tinged.
I wouldn't fancy being punched on my broken jaw for best part of 14 rounds by a berserker like Frazier. Haye did show a huge amount of heart and courage in the fight with Bellew and I think he did so purposely to make amends for the sore toe incident. Ali showed huge heart and ridiculous levels of toughness against huge punchers like Foreman, Frazier, Norton and Shavers, getting absolutely pasted by prime, ATG fighters for round after round without ever showing any real sign of quitting and he suffered greatly for that courage later in his career and post retirement. The state of both Frazier and Ali at the end of the Thrilla in Manilla is the very definition of heart, courage and toughness. Both past prime with no real need to fight on at that point in their careers but neither man ready to admit that the other man was their better and both of them took years off their lives fighting in temperatures that made members of the crowd pass out with heat exhaustion and doing so for 14 rounds.........legendary stuff.
