Can't remember who it was now but someone who was fighting for a British belt and has been on sky a few times was still working full time and took 8 weeks off for camp So that suggests most fighters are not getting a 'living' from the game
Dave Allen who was known to a few people got paid 8 grand to fight luiz Ortiz. All have do is look at weekly purse on Twitter from America from guys like dan Raphael guys at lower weights fighting for world titles for 20 grand
Dan Raphael does not deserve to talk about boxing look at the state of the man and he scored a wilder win in wilder/fury Man dont know **** about boxing
Dunno if it's the same boxer you're thinking of but one recent example of the same thing is Sam Bowen, he's working full time as a British champion and was talking about getting time off work for a full training camp for his upcoming fight.
If you can get good sponsorship that can help, hence why so many boxers are really active on social media now.
Someone I know opened a sky card in the last 12 months in his own time and I know he works full time! Doesn't make much money at all from boxing
British title level think you're off mate, only making them numbers if you're a big prospect. Consider this - Jason Welborn got around $35,000 to fight for the world title. According to reports, that was more than double his career highest payday. As much as he's an idiot, there's brilliant video Ohara Davies did explaining how it works and how much fighters actually get paid. Its very honest and shows that they're not making much unless they're names or ticket sellers.
Journeyman-£1150 +expended if they're travelling far. British title. Anything from £3000 to £20000+ . If it's a vacant belt and there's no t.v involved and the home fighter isn't a massive ticket seller then the opponent Will be looking at about £3000 maybe more if it's purse bids. If t.v is involved and the fighters are of average stock then around £15000, once again purse bids or agreemements can move this figure up or down for both the home and away fighter. If there is one or two big names involved and they are with different promoters then purse bids can be high. Eubanks jnr was once a good example here iirc altho the fight never materialised. It all depends on the fighters stock. Over £20000 has been done many times Euro to fringe is the same as above. It depends on the fighters worth but the standard bar is raised to 30-£50000. At the end of the day it all boils down to how much it is worth to the promoter both short and long term. It is then down to the manager to grab as much of that available worth for his own fighter.
Yeah mate probably out a bit. I think someone like Yarde for example would get 50k there or there about with him being a poster boy for BT but lesser known fighters definitely get no where near
There are journeyman that often fight two or three times a month, if those guys are getting a grand or more per fight they can rake it in.
