    In reality, his team probably ran a VADA style drug test on Ortiz once they were offered the fight and needed to wait until he passed their dry run to make a play for the fight.

    Exactly. Talking about lowball and no contract. The manager is supposed to be the independent guy working to get the best deal for his fighter. Regardless of what a promoter says the Manager should have been telling ortiz this is the deal, this is the best deal and it is being accepted.

    Listening to the Manager it sounds like he wasn’t doing his job.

    Luis Ortiz's promoter is TGB promotions. They promote Ortiz, Erislandy Lara, Brandon Rios, Josesito Lopez and Chris Arreola, among others. Used to promote James Toney and Paul Williams. Mainly Latino fighters now.

    Ortiz himself should be pissed at the promoter for letting a fight slip through his fingers. I see no reason to blame Ortiz, he was probably just going with the flow and being fed a line by his promoters

    As another user pointed out on here it’s become the first port of call for fighters to blame AJ & Hearn for money grabbing when fights aren’t made. Becoming abundantly clear that Hearn’s the only promoter around who who genuinely acts in his fighters’ best interest.

    Correct, his Manager is the guy that should be making sure the fight happens. Listening to the interview he sounds like a chump who just went along with whatever the promoter claims.

    His promoter was TGB as of earlier this year, Maybe DADE is new? Who knows. Who cares.

    Who is Joshua fighting June 1?

    How about Usyk or Whyte? Eddie should call their promoter.

    Correct - Hearn is making reasonable offers to fighters that would otherwise be FAR poorer without Hearn.

    Hearn is the most honest promoter from the promoters that currently exist.

    He ain't perfect but he is flexible and reasonable...

    He can't do that. Then there would actually be a risk of the fight happening.

    Let's be completely honest, what's more likely; the promoter tries to wheel and deal a better deal and dropped the ball or;

    Ortiz says "don't accept the offer, I won't fight unless I get this amount".

    Ortiz has always shown himself as a hungry guy that's gonna just take whatever fight he gets, he's not gonna refuse anything. Ortiz isn't Wilder, Fury, Parker etc..... he's just a guy that simply fights and leaves other details to his financial guys (this time to his detriment). I'd think Ortiz is probably irate right now and honestly would've probably taken the fight for far less.
