Which is specifically why I disagree with some who think Jeffries (in his prime) would manhandle Johnson, and claim the only reason Johnson was doing okay strength wise against Jeffries was because he was no longer prime. I contend that strength is one of the last things to leave you in boxing. Your speed, reflexes, movement and timing will all suffer first imo

Yes. It is curious that this declining physical strength at a heightened weight gets selectively applied? Especially by those who often champion size over all else.

Johnson was way too clever in the clinch to be 'manhandled' by anyone, that's for sure.

I never said 1973 I picked a middle range for Foreman.
eg He was 220lbs for Ali,226lbs for Lyle,224 for Frazier 2, 229 for Ledoux. Don't ascribe to me others tactics.

You're really not a full deck are you ,an inch and a half taller, with 2 inches more reach and 11 lbs in weight is not the same size!

Do you think Johnson who picked up a 35 years old Jeffries and placed him bodily in a corner, would have the same lack of difficulty in doing it with the Jeffries of 26 years of age?

When Jeffries was 26 years of age Jack Johnson would have been 23 years of age, back then Johnson only weighed about 180 pounds, maybe he had the same thing wrong with him that you think Joe Louis had, in that he was EVEN stronger at the lower weight?

You did say 1973, in reply to someone else saying it, I guess.
Anyway, 1973 is fair since that's prime Foreman and the Foreman-Frazier fight especially is bound to be central to any discussion of Foreman-Marciano.

.... and I was wrong. Foreman didn't fight 3 times in 1973 anyway. I got that wrong.

Marciano comes in as the underdog for sure, but I would say he gives Foreman a better fight than Frazier.

Marciano will go down almost as many times as Joe did, but I think his infighting and defense is better overall, also he was NEVER out of shape like Frazier was in the first match.

This turns into a comeback fight as I do not see Rocky getting knocked out early, and as Foreman slows, Rocky stays steady. If it was not for the early damage Foreman would do to the Rock, I would almost bet Rocky comes back and Ko's Foreman.

This is would be a closer fight than most would think, and Rocky could really take this.

    Let me get this straight.

11 lbs is "negligible at hw but if someone dares suggest a 175 pound fighter could compete with the 185 pound marciano they're a moron and don't know what they're talking about?
