Any word on the undercard? Would be a smart move by Hearn to send josh kelly over to fight someone like Carson Jones
Only one I can think of that doesn't involve TBA is Coyle vs Algieri. Can't remember if it's been officially confirmed yet.
Exactly potwash. A good many casuals wouldn't know what actually being "in shape" for a boxing match really means or what it entails. A good example of this which has always stuck in my mind, is the pre-fight build up to the Bruno - Witherspoon fight. "Soapstar" Anita Dobson - aka Angie Watts, and wife of Queen guitarist Brian May, was giving her opinion on the "condition" of both fighters. "Frank looks in superb condition, looking like a chiselled fighting machine with that superb physique, but Witherspoon looks out of condition" If only she could have understood that this was a top flight boxing match, not a bodybuilding competition. The rest they say, is history.
When he lost to Parker he took some time out. He actually lost all that excess fat and was in great shape. Then he started seriously training again for his next fight- and he piled all the weight back on again for the comeback fight. He has been carrying excess luggage ever since
Callum Smith’s fight has been agreed and will announce later in the week. In theory it has to be a top 15 contender. Quillin is from New York but personally can see it be one of the lesser names from the list. 1. Ryder 2. Eubank Jr 3. Chudinov 4. Akkawy 5. Lemieux 6. Quillin 7. Parker 8. Fielding 9. Feigenbutz 10. Yerbossynuly 11. Bazinyan 12. Dunn 13. Mitchell 14. Alamos 15. Shishkin
I saw somewhere saying that N'dam is offered to go to 168 to be Smith's 1st defence. Can't remember where I saw it, so can't say how reliable I think it is. Not totally unrealistic though. He's a known name, credible opponent (at middleweight), probably won't cost too much, and won't pose much of a real threat to Smith.
Didn't realise how many people were an expert on Ruiz and his career till earlier today. Everybody talking about his fast hands and great amateur record and they have been following him for sometime! I'm amazed
Heard many say yesterday “you seen the bum Joshua is fighting”, pics of him with his top off etc. Trying to explain to them that he’s better than Miller wasn’t easy.
