Yeah I knew JJJ offered his services for the June date and was ready and willing to smash AJ to bits like he used to do in sparring all the time. However, Hearn refusing to return S-Jam's calls is just inexcusable and I say that as someone who has defended Emperor Edward Longshanks on at least 1000 separate occasions. No wonder he was wearing that disgusting bright yellow (the colour of cowardice) jersey the other day.

I'm not the kind to blow my own trumpet, Nasal, or at least not too loudly after 9pm on a week day. However, I did predict that AJ would duck Hunter and his step up to CW level and once again I was proven right.

To be honest, I think this might have something to do with AJ nearly coming unstuck at blown up CW level in his last fight against Sasha Povetkin and it's simply indefensible. Fury stepped up to CW level against Cunningham, Povetkin did it against Huck, and Wlad stepped up to both CW and British level against Haye in the same fight. That was the fight where Wlad proved his greatness to me - stepping up to CW level and British Level simultaneously is the very definition of daring to be great. But AJ is clearly terrified of making the step up to CW level.

I hope so, they have until the end of July to make it happen. It should of gone to purse bids after April the 10th the fact it hasn't I hope means they have agreed terms.

Both sides seem to want it but I'm doubtful that it will happen just yet, won't believe it until it's made official. It's a big risk for both men, but I guess whoever does win if it happens gets a big boost in profile and will get a lot of hype.

Highly doubt that fight happens, after DDD win over Lartey , Joyce basically went over and nicely told DDD wasn't ready for him and needs more experience without saying it. DDD body language suggested he would continue fighting guys to prepare him for a guy like Joyce.

The fight really wouldn't make sense for Warren at this time bc Joyce is his top guy now and most likely to face Joshua army the corner and will have DDD and Gorman as future back up plans to keep his stable intact.

I need one of you guys to sell me on Joyce because I've seen multiple fights and I just don't see it. He really does appear to be a walking juggernaut (power, tank, size). He's so woefully slow and telegraphed though. He's like a real life Solomon Grundy but I see people already matching him up against Joshua and the other top guys after only 9 fights. I see him like a lamb to the slaughter at this point vs. the top guys. I mean I think he'll run over Ustinov but the top guys? Someone help me see the vision.

Agreed. I like Joyce but is his style going to be effective at the top level? I'm not convinced. He needs to prove himself against a top ten opponent before he thinks about a title shot.

Even though Joyce only fought 9 times he is already in his mid 30s

Don’t bother , you’re seeing it all correctly - he’s not that good.

Pointless fight. What's Joyce going to learn from beating up a very shot Ustinov ?

Joyce needs to work on his defence and movement not just keep walking through well past it / were never much good anyway boxers

At this rate like Ortiz he'll be in his 50s when he get his first title shot.

Fair enough, Joyce arm-punches his way to victory and should do so against Ustinov. The old man can't hang.
Anyone with a hint of footspeed and reactions will simply not get hit though, hence my favouring DDD to win that potential fight, although, in the grand scheme, Dubois is also basic and pedestrian.

I don't see it either. I wrote him off going to the Olympics though and he really should of gotten the gold. He might just be one of those guys that looks horrible but is just damn effective. Kind of like Froch I never rated him when he turned pro, so open defensively, slow and ponderous but he usually found a way to win vs more skilled, talented and technically gifted opponents.

This fight will mirror a drunk girl trying to stay on a mechanical bull. Ustinov holding on for dear life until he hits the deck for the night .

Oh nice, they found a mismatch as ridiculous as the main event, but at heavyweight so it'll be all the more boring. Wonderful.
