But if you are I’d like to point out that I don’t hate Canelo. He’s got a fan friendly style. Comes to fight. He takes on tough challenges. Who can’t respect that? But while he is an entertaining, skilled, and able fighter he is more marketable than anything. Talented, good looking Mexican kid with an Irish face...people are shallow simple sheep. So what he really is is manufactured. He’s the love child of a coked up cross dressing millionaire and a corrupt money hungry athletic commission. Oscar has made Canelo a millionaire himself. Hasn’t steered him wrong yet in financial terms. All that diva a-side stuff isnt Canelo. I see how the boy fights. I see the look in his eyes. He’s a fighter. He will get in the ring with anyone, I don’t doubt that one bit. So, if I ever come across as hateful towards Canelo himself I assure you that you’re misreading my hatred for all the things that are wrong with this sport, which I truly love. I won’t deny that I am very much a “fanboy against” the corruption that plagues this sport. At this moment Canelo is not only the face of boxing, he’s the puppet of the machine. Don’t be so simple. The issue is that most fans saw those fights quite different as the original outcomes, as it could very well have been 0-1-2 or even 0-3 in those same fights combined, with ridiculously wide scores in the guy's favor in every but one of those close fights he had. Then there's the ped scandal, all the countless a-side shenanigans and the numerous forced catch weights. The guy is a very good fighter and I actually used to be a fan earlier on in his career (definitely not anymore). But he isn't the division's best (probably second best) he just always gets things his way.
whether he gets gifts or not, his class, or lack of, will show in this fight. we will know who the best 160 lb fighter in the world is, regardless of who admits what.
I've come to really respect Ginger nuts as a boxer. Yeah he's had loads of benefits and help with dodgy scorecards etc but his second fight with GGG was mightily impressive. He is improving all the time, clearly works on his skill and tactics and is now looking close to unbeatable at MW. I despise DLH and the very unsubtle way he plays the system, but I don't let that cloud my judgement on the very fine fighter Ginger has become. I think he'll wear down Jacobs to a late stoppage.
It is hard to say. Canelo is the better fighter- sharper counters and gameplan, but Jacobs has speed and he can punch early. The problem is Jacobs keeps his left low and drags his left hand a little, and Canelo could counter him with a right hand when Jacobs is Orth. Jacobs has to hurt Canelo early and try to stop him. I think if Jacobs wins he wins by stopping Canelo. That is how I see it. Uppercut on the inside would be a good punch started with some body punching. That would be great if he could work Canelo's body.. If I were Jacobs I would go most of the fight southpaw, but he will start righty.
