He kept saying after the first Canelo fight that he had wanted a "big drama show" but couldn't oblige the fans because Canelo moved so much. Well in the second fight, Canelo stood his ground and was even backing up GGG. The reason there wasn't no "big drama show" in the second fight was because GGG didn't deliver. For some reason, he wanted to try and box his way to a "W" instead of smashing his way to a big drama show "W" like he was clamoring for after their first fight. He doesn't deserve a third shot until he has a notable win.
Give over. The second fight was one of the best fights at the elite level ever. It was back and forth non-stop action for 12 whole rounds. You can't seriously be saying that the second fight was bad. GGG didn't box at all. He went looking specifically for the KO and it cost him rounds. If anything he wasn't smart enough, he got carried away. I have no doubt that GGG will beat Canelo on points in the third fight. He made mistakes in the second fight but he is the smarter fighter and he KNOWS how to beat Canelo now.

Unless it's Andrade for total unification, who else makes sense for Alvarez? Until more top middleweights fight each other, they'd all fail under your burden of proof of GGG needing a notable win before earning a Canelo fight. The Rolls fight sucks, but Charlo and crew aren't fighting each other to stake their claim. Until that happens, there's no reason not to take either the biggest money fight (GGG) or the unification one (Andrade, provided he beats Sulecki).
YDKSAB. Canelo wasn't backing GGG up. GGG was boxing off the backfoot because that's what Canelo did in the first fight and got the gift draw. I don't think GGG's back touched the ropes once in 12 rounds. GGG was exactly where he wanted to be for every second of every round.
