I don't think Jacobs did enough. Canelo walked him down, and slipped and countered all night.. it was a great performance by canelo and a very underwhelming one from Jacobs..

116-112 is within the scope of reason, I guess. Any wider for Canelo wouldn't be. This was probably a 115-113 either way kind of fight, if we're leaving some budge room for the closest rounds but holding steady on the close-but-clear ones and striving for accuracy...

116-112 Canelo for me, too. 1, 7, 9 and 10 for DJ and everything else for Canelo.

There were a few close rounds in the second half where Canelo started well and Jacobs came on- though with less accuracy. Made them difficult to score, but ultimately Canelo's accurate early shots would carry the frame. If you like Danny's agegression and flurries, you could certainly get to a closer score.

Still, I think the official scorecards kind of reflected the type of fight it was, though.

So with the chip rounds (both airtight, I'm sure we all can agree) going to Jacobs, you'd be on the "draw" bandwagon.

You can definitely get there, yeah.

It feels like a close Canelo win, but a path to a draw is certainly available.

It bothered me that he seemed to concede the last two rounds, as if he had a sizable lead. It was a ****ing winnable fight for him.

Canelo does everything well, but he doesn't really excel at anything.

I hate to say it, but Danny may be too nice for the top of the top level. Once he gets there, it's like some mental thing kicks in where he's cool with being the bride's maid.

I know he's got that fire in him, and we've seen it in other fights...but I noticed the same problems in both the GGG and Canelo fight -forgetting he's the bigger man, waiting too long to get started, the delayed starts, the weird dedication to switching to southpaw....drives me nuts, as he could've stolen both fights with some tweaks.

Canelo is getting boring. Oscar is waiting for a real Mexican star.

Canelo barely did anything in the second half, Jacobs barely did anything in the first LOL but I'll stick with my above score

People often give too much credit for fighters who are losing the first half and then make adjustments that improve their performance, even if that improvement isn't necessarily winning rounds. Canelo by comfortable decision.

Like how long as this kid been into boxing:duh??
Danny was 173.5 at 8Am and you know within 12-13 hours he added easily another 8-12 pounds.

I laughed at how Danny said :fusmile you to ODLH and Canelo with their added rehydration clause and just did his thing.
The extra weight helped with him absorbing them body shots but his lack of pressure was also due to not chancing gassing out with Big Red.
People still say he should of received a draw or won against GGG but to me GGG sealed that fight with the KD and Canelo NEVER had Danny in trouble

They were both close fights but GGG beat Jacobs due to the knockdown. This was the most believable judging Ive seen in Vegas in years fight could have gone either way 115-113 needs a rematch
