Hrgovic, Joyce, kuzmin and yoka

Kuzmin was very unimpressive against Price. I don’t rate him after that. He looked delighted when Price quit which tells me he was really feeling the punches and struggling in there.

Yoka is underrated IMO. Sure he might be chinny but Allen said he’s the hardest puncher he’s been in with, and he’s been in with Ortiz and Whyte. I think he needs to bulk up though.

Hrgovic is quality but needs to be stepped up now, no point fannying about with his amateur background.

Joyce is capable of beating anyone in the world if his chin holds up IMO. He is what he is, a juggernaut with high output. The worst type of opponent you could put him in there with is an Usyk or Fury because they’d box rings around him.

 

Hrgovic > Yoka > Joyce (close with Yoka) > Kuzmin.

Yoka needs to sort out his drug stuff quickly or he'll be left behind. Joyce is limited but his natural talents, and his engine will make him such a hard fight for anyone. If Yoka avoids him I think he goes further, but if they face I think Joyce stops him in the late rounds. Hrgovic needs to step up but I think he's got a great chance.

Don't really rate Kuzmin, don't think he's top 20 either.

 

It's tough to say.

It's too early to tell at this point. Joyce won't fight Dubois next, so we not going to see how strong he really is anytime soon. Frank wants build up both Joyce and Dubois with soft match matchmaking it seems. He tries get them to some 15+ fights before they face real threats. Kuzmin didn't look good in his last fight but will see what he does next. Hrgovic looks the best so far with Yoka close second. Yoka can box, he just needs to stay off juice. Yoka is pure boxer who has all the talent in the world but needs build up his record for the sake of experience.

 

Don't forget Ivan Dychko. He looks a whole different animal in the pro game. Scheduled to fight Ray Austin May 10 and it's not going to end well for poor old Ray.

 

It's disgraceful that old Ray Austin is still fighting and now going in against prospects.

 

Couldn't agree more at 48 this a bad matchup for Ray and If I was Dychko I would refuse it. Same goes for Oliver McCall.

 

Well the way the he scene is with all the top guys avoiding each other and fights bring so slow to make I read for Joe Joyce he may just be too old and never get a shot in his prime. I mean he's on about Dubois next and that's not till the end of the year. Could be another couple of years till he gets a shot, or more.

Yoka impressed me the most but not heard much of him, he's barely mentioned.

 

Joyce will be 34 in September. I dont think you can describe any boxer as being prime when they are 34 or older. The signs of age really show when you are 37+ on average. So Joyce isnt a prospect, he waited for far too long to go pro.

The best prospects for me are

1. Hrgovic
2. Yoka

Kuzmin hasnt impressed me at all

 

He should be prime now or coming to the end of it is my point. He needs the shot now this year not in 3 years

 

He needs to find a better promoter. His career's just wasting away currently.

 

Hrgovic is the cream of the crop

Hrgovic >> Dychko >>> Joyce >> Kuzmin >> Yoka. In that order.

 

Quite a decent statement from Yoka last night with a 90 second KO of Johann Duhaupas. He’s come out of lockdown with a much better opponent than all the other prospects. Duhaupas was ranked 48th by Boxrec.

 

In comparison, Filip Hrgovic knocked out world number 652 Alexandre Kartozia last night in 2 rounds.
