On paper, does Canelo have a greater MW win than Hopkins? The curse of a dominant champion?

I'd definitely put GGG over Tito at 160 just based on that GGG is a long reigning champ there.

Trinidad at the time stood way higher than Jacobs now or ever.
Trinidad was among the P4P elites and Hopkins was a massive underdog going in.

    "But Trinidad was a welterweight"
Hopkins weighed in at 157, Trinidad at 158. And Hopkins has a long recorded history of being under 170lbs on fight night during his MW reign. He was just a tall guy. Trinidad actually had the reach advantage that night.

No shame in loosing to Winky, who him self was one of the p4p kings.
And are you really holding the Jones record against Trinidad?

Trinidad was still a great fighter at MW, just his MW run wasn't great. He barely fought anyone. And the two guys that beat him were P4P.

GGG would literally destroy both by the half was mark, Jacobs would ud both and a stoppage isn't out the equation

He wasn't Badbot, great Welter ? Definitely...At 160 he doesn't last long with a winning run imo

What do you mean he: "he doesn't last long with a winning run imo".
 He tried to and lost to two of the elites in the division who ended his career.

But what I mean was that he was still a great fighter. He easily dispatched of Joppy. It's just that the competition was too good.
You think guys like Holmes, Simon or Eastman would have beaten him?
MW back then was weak. Weak enough for Trinidad to leave a mark if it weren't for Hopkins.

Well since I suppose I rate the Golovkin win higher than the Trinidad win... it would appear that he does.

Golovkin > Hopkins, if you count that as a win.

    He wouldn't be dominant Trinidad
Eastman could've give him hell, beat him no probably not, but Trinidad isn't as slick as Hop, Eastman could be a problem, Simon too was very good

If you count the GGG fight as a win, it's far better than anything B-Hop did.

No he does not because Hopkins win over Felix Tito Trinidad was against an undefeated all time great 3 weight division champion.

Hopkins' domination of Tito is better than any single win on Canelo's record, including his debatable victories over GGG and Jacobs.
