I'm a fan. Dude throws devastating uppercuts on the inside, but he's short armed and not rangy at all. Unfortunately for him he is Callum's mando, and that will be the 1st and last time he's seen at world level.
But Smith is more or less retired or at least totally inactive! Plus if\when the Plank fights again it might be at 175. I doubt he has a long term future at 168. If Ryder can get inside on him I'd say he could chew him up like a buzzsaw!
Ive been a fan of john since his first few fights, range he struggles with, he can be a bit slow to get started. Mundo beats him quite easily.
He’s fighting again in under 4 weeks at 168 against N’Dam. And there’s not a chance Ryder has a hope against Smith. He will he flattened.
Ryder is a very good fighter who is improving all the time. I hope he gets the Smith fight though I think he will come up short. Would love to see him fight Eubank, be a great fight. I would actually have Ryder as slight favourite right now.
Come on, really Obodai Sai whooped Cox bad and was robbed CST has been telling us the DeCarolis win was pretty much a draw too Mayorga LOL Point being these guys were poor opponents that made Ryder look better than he is Ryder will still take beatings left and right when he steps up. Sirotkin was schooling him before we found out he's a chinny guy. He actually only beat Cox easily... The other 3 fights were competitive. Nielson, Sirotkin and Akkawy landed a fair bit of heavy leather on him too. Ryder is still very, very hittable and those guys weren't the sharpest tbf
A washed up old middleweight with a style that depends on youthfull speedy reflexes! And to cap it off, no punch! Mind you, going by the way I saw the Plank struggle with a middle aged kickboxer HND has a chance here! Wake me up when it's over...zzzzzz
Well so I can say is that if THAT version of the Plank shows up to face TODAY'S John Ryder then it's not just his hands that are getting busted! Timbeeeerrrr!
IB: hey, james5000, stfu, nobody cares to hear your inexpert opinion, and there's literally nobody posting here that would benefit from your analytical insight on the sport, you are the Ali Raymi of Knowing Shit About Boxing (in that you talk big, "2010's poster of the decade", but everybody regards you as just an enormous joke - or rather, a tiny feeble pissant of a joke flailing about madly and suffering a wicked case of Dunning-Krüger) and with every reply you dig your hole deeper until your credibility has sunk from "poster widely understood to be not very knowledgeable or reasonable" to "caricature of a person ridiculous enough to make a Russian bot AI suddenly become self-aware enough to blush in vicarious shame..."; seriously I'm giving you an out in this particular thread, every additional word just embarrassed you further and I've pretty well shut you down and had the last word on this subject, there's nowhere to go but into the darker recesses of this bottomless pit... for your own good, man, just stfu.. james5000: Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeroy Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenkins! ...at least you got chicken?
...FYI, btw, @james5000's ban was handed down by a different mod and had naught to do with this exchange. Just a coincidence (although completely unsurprising) that he annoyed somebody else in some other way enough to get booted.
A mod trying to swerve around the swear filter, surely not? Seriously though, I hardly agree with anything that James5000 posts on here, but he was only offering an alternative opinion. If you’ve (or another mod) banned him for disagreeing with you then you’re abusing your position as a mod on here and you need to reign yourself in. Btw If you in-turn ban me for posting this, then you’ll lose me as a poster for good.
Skim-reading, are you? In my very next post after the one you quoted (a solid 2+ hours before you selectively quoted the first of the pair) I explicitly clarified that his banning on the heels of this little "row" was purely coincidental. I have zero clue why @Serge issued the ban and don't particularly care, but I can say with certainty he did no such thing on my account. I'd be quite miffed if he did, actually - not for any sanctimonious "abuse of mod powers" reason, either, but simply because I can fight my own battles.
