And he broke him down even more during the fight with his constant back pedaling and clinching. And the constant low-blows(which I'm sure you missed) had nothing at all to do with this fight. I got you.

 

This situation isn't a case of a fighter getting on anyone's head.

Be real, there were two low blows that preceded the right hand by Ward that stunned Kovalev.
The low shot in the 7th and again in the 8th before the right hand were just below the belt.
Those shots weren't on the gonads, but they were in that area right below the waist and just above the ***** where it hurts almost as much as getting hit on the balls.
Those shots were low, confirmation coming frow Ward himself who backed off both times, but then resumed as ref Weeks hollered emphatically both times to continue, as he wasn't ruling them low.

Allright, they weren't officially called low, but it was those two shots that weakened Kovalev and put him on mental alert more may be coming, that's what set him up to get hit with that big right hand.

I keep hearing Kovalev was wearing down, so was Ward and he's admitted to it, they were both breathing hard and wearing down.
To me it looked like Kovalev was going to survive the round but then Ward dug three or four left hooks in a row well below the belt line.
To stop the fight after that and disregard that the punches were well below the waist line is just plain wrong.
An injustice to say the least.
