I normal dont care about fighters losing.

But last saturday when Herrera was knocked out. I was sad for the man he is a perfect example of being screwed in life.

He beat Danny Garcia clearly in 2014 he should have been light welterweight champion.

That should have been his one moment in the sun.

The Jose Benavidez fight was also disgrace.

Herrera true definition of hard luck.

    True that.
He definitely isn't the only one that fits that description though.

To be fair, he got a LOT of opportunities. Just look at his resume.
But yea, got screwed over one time too many and didn't have any serious people backing him.
He has been with GBP for a long time now, but they always treated him as a stepping stone.

I do feel bad for the guy. He's always on Facebook trying to sell video game consoles. The paychecks from an official Danny win would have been millions.

Ya he was abit late in the game when he started which means you have to do things the hard way! But, for point of reference he did go 12 close rounds with Jose Benvidez whom Crawford struggled with at times,, Just to show you the level that Vergil Ortiz is on!

Yeah I always had a soft spot for the dude post Garcia. He's a damn fine boxer too. Think the Ortiz KO is as much a showing that Herrera is way past his sell by date as it is anything else.

 That´s some real mental gymnastics there.

Should have gone with just the fact that Ortiz is the only one to stop Herrera. And he did so effortlessly.
The only other man to dominate Herrera was Frankie Gomez, but he walked away from boxing.
So only two men have clear cut dominant W's over Herrera. Everyone else cut it close or got straight up gifts(Benavidez Jr. being among them).

Always liked Herrera, they screwed him like they screwed Kotelnik and Lucas. Screwed him double hard against that six-toed Lego Hair Freak Garcia and a pre-peg leg crippled Benavidez who had both legs in working order unlike the gammy knee kneecaped version who fought Crawford.

Most screwed fighter in recent times. If he had a bigger punch his career would have been much different. Hope he has earned enough for himself and retires soon.

He was screwed in the Garcia fight. Him and provodnikov had an amazing fight back in the day. If you’ve never seen it, check it out. I’ve always like Mauricio.

He’s one of those fighters that if managed right we’re possibly talking about him only having 1 loss.. promotional backing and good managing is what separates him from someone like Danny Garcia tbh.. Danny got gifts while he didn’t

This. He lacked a powerful manager and promoter, which unfortunately can make the difference in getting a decision or not.
