Battle of the body punchers, close, close fight, Hatton`s quick feet while coming forwards would cause Cotto problems but Cotto`s high guard would block a lot of shots, Cotto landed far more punchers than Hatton did v Floyd at 147 and Ricky was open to the counter hook as he came in when he dipped to the right, so Cotto would land more hooks, there`s a good chance he`d stop Hatton.
If the fight is in England and Parriss is the ref, it's Hatton. Anywhere else with any other ref, Cotto stops him.
Cotto bigger stronger better. He was a monster at 140, breaking people's jaws, eye sockets, retiring them etc. Cotto could also move and snap out a heavy jab. Don't see Hatton pulling it off.
I seriously think Hatton would trouble Cotto and win. Not saying Cotto is a quitter, but against Magarito he definitely started to wilt in both bouts. I think Hitman could grind it out. Referee would have an impact on this bout, though.
Hatton roughs him up early with dirty tactics and Cotto fades in the 2nd half of the fight enough for Hatton to get the decision
A bit difficult to call at the moment. Could go either way. Just another tremendous battle at 140/147 that never surfaced. Hatton-Gatti Cotto-Tszyu Quartey-Cotto DeLaHoya-Tszyu Etc. etc. So much potential...
I really like this matchup - genuine pick'em fight and I think it would be great to watch. I'm edging towards Hatton but Cotto was a big light welterweight... hmm. Honestly, I don't know. But I want to see it!
Cotto was really weight drained at 140 and Hatton was at his peak there. Hatton only because of the weight. Cotto is way better as seen in their Paulie , Floyd and Pacquioa fights.
Cotto. Just the better fighter. Cotto was more impressive against Pinto, and Bailey than Hatton ever was.
