It could turn out to be BS but I heard from somebody who would know that Warren has apparently tabled a very big offer which Team Eubank are having to strongly consider. It seems that there will be no more UK Haymon /Poxon shows, so it’s either sky or BT as Jnr’s options if he wants to stay over here as appears to be the case.
I don’t think that’s an option. Frank is BTs guy and there’s no way he will be allowing a Poxon or somebody like that to get a deal on the platform. It’s apparently a 3 fight offer- the bog standard warm up/tick over fight with an expectation somewhere of a “unification” with Saunders.
Makes sense for all parties if you ask me. I'm sure Hearn will throw his hat in too if Jr is leaving ITV. Eubank is no world beater but he has a well known name and an entertaining style. I've said a few times that matched in the right way Jr could have a solid career.
CEJ definitely has great earning potential on any promoters books, and that is not blowing smoke up his arse because I think he always falls short once he gets into the top 5% of boxers at MW or SMW. However with everyone else he looks fantastic and he could defend his WWE belt until the sun doesnt shine and claim to be a world champion, earning pay check after pay check. Kind of like a Ricky Hatton job and then a final cash out when he is ready to retire stepping up to world class again.
Hearn would sign Eubank in a split-second if he could, he's probably the most well-known boxer in the country apart from AJ, Fury and Khan. He's wasted most of his career by messing around with different promoters and TV channels, he should have been fighting on most of AJ undercards in the past few years.
Be interesting to know if the 3 yr deal the PBC have with ITV is dead too. Wilder's on Sky and ITV 's coverage has been inconsistent. To be honest, it's no different than when it was sometimes on Boxnation, sometimes on Sky and sometimes not on at all.
Doubt he actually signs with Frank as Sr winds him up no end- perhaps some type of cross promotional deal although BT won’t entertain him being on PPV for every fight.
Maybe they will though? They pumped money in because they want a slice of that PPV pie. Other than Fury - and that’s only the big fights they don’t have a PPV Star (yet). They’ve picked up the Khan fight on PPV. The more I think about it the more it makes sense they would sign him in the hope he does some good buys for them.
It would be a smart move Eubank is well known and gets the publics interest one way or another Are him and his ol man worth the headache though? Thats the only issue really
