What is the best height for a heavyweight? What would you consider too short? Is 6'1 or 6'2 too short for a heavyweight?

Anything below 6:4 is at a serious disadvantage these days.

Best height ideally around 6'4 1/2

Not everyone carries height well while maintaining balance and better coordination.

Joshua , Hrgovic, Joyce and Fury are examples of very good tall guys.

Wilder at 6'7 is perfect example of an off balance fighter. Though his speed saves him when he's stumbling over his own punches.

Id say Just about 6'5 because it's easier to be more coordinated.

Definitely not under 6ft 4. I'm really worried that puny Usyk might get beaten down by these huge behemoths. Please don't move up to heavyweight Oleksandr. I really don't want to see the bronze bomber tear you apart!

Usyk will beat Takam in better style than AJ did.

It doesn’t matter. The most talented guy will find a way to the top regardless of what his height is. I’ve met Usyk and he’s around 6’1” tops and he’s good enough to be a champion at heavyweight.

That’s his listed height. Athletes are rarely ever their listed heights. I’m 184 cm and met Usyk at Nazo’s when I was getting gloves a few years ago and he was barely a little taller than I was. 186cm seems about right, but no way is he 190cm.

Out of the top three heavyweights (Joshua, Wilder, and, Fury) only Joshua’s listed height of 6’6” is close to his real height of 6’5.5”, which isn’t a big deal. However, Wilder and Fury have ridiculously exaggerated heights. Wilder is not 6’7” and Fury isn’t 6’9”. I never met Fury, but I’ve met Wilder and he’s 6’5” to maybe 6’5.5”, but he’s under 6’6” while Fury is 6’7”.

Tyson Fury as an amateur and early in his pro career was reported as 6’7”, but like they do with most pro athletes they started inflating his height for promotional purposes.

The 22-year-old 6ft 7in Manchester fighter, who wants Haye to postpone his plans to retire next October, said: 'I need a few more fights but I am on Haye’s tail.”

This is also the case with Joe Joyce, who was always listed as 6’4” as an amateur, which is plenty of height already, but once he turned pro he was suddenly 6’6”.

He is 108kg (17 stone) and 193cm (6foot4) tall. He is a world-class super-heavyweight boxer. He recently won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics. Yet what makes Joe Joyce from the United Kingdom so remarkable has nothing to do with his size or boxing ability. In fact, it’s probably the last thing you might automatically attribute to a world-class heavyweight boxer.”
