Michael Hunter II born 07/10/1988 is a 6'2 Heavyweight with a 17-1-12 KO's record. Born in Van Nuys, California, USA and fighting out of Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Son of Mike " The Bounty" Hunter, the winner of the National Championships in 2007 at super heavyweight, and 2011 Golden Gloves Champ at Heavyweight, represented the US in the 2012 Olympics, only to be eliminated right out of the gate in a close 10-10 match against Artur Beterbiev, who was eventually eliminated by the eventual Gold Medalist and future opponent of Hunter, Oleksandr Usyk. Along the way, he picked up amateur wins over Rivas, Andy Ruiz Jr. Peralta, Shimmell and Tabiti. He turned pro in early 2013 and ran through a laundry list of no hopers, it wasn't until he got his chance to shine against the slick Isiah Thomas, who Hunter proceeded to maul from one end of the ring to the other, in his Showtime debut that he got some well deserved attention. Unfortunately that also set him up to be an opponent of Oleksandr The Great himself, and unlike many predicted, he brought everything he had in his HBO debut against Usyk, taking several early rounds off of him, and hanging tough and keeping it competitive until the last 4 or 5 rounds. Even though he was dead tired, he still showed a will and chin of iron and immense heart after being pummeled from one side of the ring to the other, with Usyk landing an impressive 52 out of 121 punches on him in the 12th. What also helped is how slippery he is, think about that, he still had the wherewithal and the slickness to slip almost 70 punches in a round that could only be described as tornadic, that's insane.

Well after hanging tough in an impressive showing against the ATG top gun at Cruiserweight, instead of resting on his laurels, that seemed to give him the boost of confidence and motivation to go up a few pounds to the land of giants, and start kicking these lumbering goons asses from pillar to post. He made his HW debut against Iago Kiladze, recent KO victim of Kownacki, in 6, well Mike improved upon that performance, by dominating him with similar ease, and stopping him a round faster in the fifth, the same as Joe Joyce a few months later. Then he took on feared UK based Congelese KO artist Martin Bakole Ilunga, who he dominated from the opening bell, and managed to stop in the 10th round, Bakole proving he was no hypejob, came roaring back to be the first man to legitimately KO this generations Chuvalo, Mariusz Wach. Hunter also beat Ustinov like a red headed stepchild, ghoulishly throttling him senseless and brutally stopping him, something Charr couldn't manage to pull off, hell Charr arguably should have lost to Alexander. So that's quite a little run he's put together so far, how far can he take it? He has a style that's a potential nightmare to most, he's slippery as an eel, brings a rough and tumble inside game, and rarely takes a punch flush, while sending looping overhands sailing through the air, bouncing off the craniums of his unsuspecting, unprepared, much taller, less coordinated hapless behemoth opponents. He's got what it takes to make it to the Top 5 IMO. Who knows, fingers crossed, he might one day be the top dog in the US at HW, its not out of the question. Check Out The Bounty Hunter kicking ass, taking names and capturing his bounties.:ggg:ggg:ggg:ggg

Can see Hunter being able to compete at a high level in the HW division. Got the skill and speed to cause most fighters trouble. Might lack the size and toughness to be the best but can see hunter being a problem

AJ ducking Hunter now, might have been a terrible mistake on his part, look how good he is now at HW, imagine how good he could be after 2 or 3 more fights.

Good stuff. Mike ''The Bounty'' Hunter Jr. also claims to have nearly KO'd Tyson ''The Gypsy King'' Fury in the amateurs and in addition to SHW behemoths like Bakole and Ustinov being unable to put a dent in his chin in the pros none of the numerous other SHW behemoths he fought in the ams did either, including the former albeit now sadly deceased #1 ranked SHW in the world savage punching SHW behemoth Islam Timurziev.

Hunter impressed everyone in Wlad's camp when he sparred him for the Haye fight ie. a prime Wlad, not the way past his best one who fought Fury and AJ. That good work Hunter gave Wlad in the gym was obviously vital in preparing Wlad for both his step up to CW level and British level a step Wlad would've undoubtedly have failed had he not enlisted the services of Mike ''The Bounty'' Hunter Jr. to help him bridge to gap. It's just a shame that Wlad's successor AJ shamelessly ducked his step up to CW level against Hunter just as I predicted he would.

I'm glad you added that, i was going to. Fury disputes it, but quite frankly, I believe every word Mike says here. I can almost visualize how the match played out, Hunter is a potential nightmare for that version of Tyson.

I hate to speak ill of a fellow gypsy, especially one who is a distant cousin of mine and who is also related to Bartley ''King of the Gypsies'' Gorman, but Tyson did nearly fail his step up to CW level when he fought USS Cunningham and Mike ''The Bounty'' Hunter Jr. is levels about USS.

Tbh mate that was clearly a flash knockdown and he took that as a slightly heavier than usual light refreshment, he's still the only man to stop the battleship.

True but the step up to CW level is a notoriously difficult one for HWs to bridge, regardless if they're real fighting men or not.

My favorite HW prospect along with Usyk. I think both will fair very well at HW even against the behemouths at the top of the HW food chain.

Since we know the real Michael Hunter saw this thread: I just want to tell him that I admire his desire to fight the best and is not afraid to take risks. Big props to boxers like him.... They are becoming really rare. It's all about the zero now.

Hunter didn't even receive an offer from E-Hearn who is on record saying he thinks The Bounty Hunter would be a really difficult opponent for Robo Squad.

Don't say Serge didn't call it before it happened

I'm so sick of all these gutless frauds up at HW ducking the step up to CW Level

It'll be interesting to see how his career pans out. IMHO he's making way too much noise with his mouth compared to what he's done in the ring, which is usually a sign that a fighter is about to receive a lesson in humility. That's frustrating if he feels like he's being avoided, but he really just needs to continue winning.

He has a fight lined up against former UFC fighter Fabio Maldanado. That should be a total layup.
