Cool. I really want to watch Warrington but I don't care for staying up till God knows when to watch Tyson Fury crush a can. If BT Sport give us the Warrington fight sans PPV they're more than welcome to get what they can from the Fury die-hards for the Schwarz fight. I'm happy to read about that one in the morning tbh because I don't give Tommy boy a hope.
Gotta wonder were this madness is going to end. There'll either be a realisation even amongst the sweet charlie line mugs that they're being ripped off (sadly unlikely) or in the not too distant future they'll be charging £14.95 for Anthony Yarde bashing up the latest Lithuanian forklift driver and £25 for Fury vs Andy Ruiz to see if he can do a better job than AJ did.
If it makes money it makes business sense. Thing is Frank has been stung before. His 'magnificent seven' PPV or whatever it was died on its backside and cost him money. That was the one with Jennings v Brook headlining. Could happen again. Fury has never been popular; middle of the night against some absolute nobody will do, what? 20k? 50k best?
I think this does between 50-100k buys. Fury is a good salesman and the casual fan is invested in him. That said, it’s a joke this is on PPV- his opponent is untested and inferior to many of the contenders he’s faced before. On Channel 5. At a decent hour. With Al Bernstein commentating.
Not paying for that garbage. Those 3 need to sort it out and fight each other. We should ideally be seeing those 3 fight each other 2-3 times. We’ll be lucky if we see two of them face each other once. None of them are getting any younger either. I hate boxing sometimes.
The casual fan just isn't invested though. There's no evidence and any boost the Wilder fight had was killed stone dead by a dire opponent and now PPV.
Fury can't be hidden from the fact that everyone thinks this fight is a joke. He can say Schwarz is coming for a war and a hungry unbeaten prospect but he doesn't necessarily believe it.
100%. If their networks can’t agree to it they should threaten to walk off the networks and on to another one and attitudes would soon change.
