Jarrett Hurd is not a bum, but I'm not surprised he lost to JRock

I think it's because what Hurd does has always worked. Everybody else eventually ran out of gas. Hurds entire style is built on attrition. But JRock never ran out of gas.

Every high level fight he has was pretty much the same, against Harrison, Trout, Lara, etc.....he started out slow and was outboxed. The only difference is he ended up catching up against Harrison and Trout (I still thought he lost to Lara) but it was very tight. This fight, he started from a deficit and was never able to dig him self out.

The hilarity is I've picked against him in all of those fights and he won, I picked for him in this one and he lost. I feel like I have a Teddy Atlas vibe when it comes to Hurd.

Well everybody else besides JRock gassed out. Well Harrison didnt even last long enough to gas. Just couldn't handle the pressure.

It was a matter of time until he ran into someone that wasn't going to wilt like JRock. Always liked Hurd and he is fun to watch but I only wish that someone teaches Hurt a bit of defense and some boxing instead of relying on his size and stamina. His career won't last much longer if he keeps fighting like this.

I agree but Williams was never caught with a clean shot. Hurd's punching was incredibly clumsy and inaccurate. Hurd needs to sharpen his game or he will continue to be beaten, especially if he moves to MW.

As I said in the RBR after the fight... Its probably all downhill from here for Hurd. He was completely exposed and took a ton of punishment.

Yeah, I feel bad for Hurd because he is a good guy but if he doesn't tighten things up he is going to be slurring his words when his career is over. Too many shots to the head.

Hurd's problem is he has horrible "boxing vision." He's always looking off or putting his head down as he punches. That's why a skilled fighter like Williams easily evaded his punches and why Williams consistently landed both his leads and counters. It's also the reason Hurd has so many wild misses in all his fights. Hurd is strong as a mule but he's too far down the road in his career to learn how to watch his opponent.

Munguia vs Hurd needs to happen. Both of these guys are made from the same cloth...big, strong and easy to hit.
