You don’t have close fights with Canelo and GGG when you are a c level fighter. He is likely an A- to B+ range. Good enough to potentially be a belt holder but just shy of beating great fighters yet able to compete with them on the biggest stage. No shame in that and his outside of the ring Health victory makes him a courageous guy as well.
Hmmm funny that eh?Jacob's is a highly ranked middleweight who's fought in the shadow of Golovkin in his prime,he's good enough to win multiple rounds off both. No shame losing to Canelo who seems to win those early rounds at will.By the time Jacob's started to have some success it was too late and imo he doesn't have the boxing brain that Canelo and Golovkin have.
I count myself a Jacobs fan, but that's as much to do with his qualities as a person as his deeds in the ring. I think the B grade is probably accurate, he's an excellent fighter but probably just that level off exceptional. When rating him though its worth mentioning that I think there's a slip from a peak visible. Maybe its something to do with making weight as they alluded to, maybe it's just the miles on the clock and the aging process.
He was being completely outboxed by Canelo in the first 6 rounds of their clash, he was c ompletely clueless on how to deal wit all the different looks Canelo gave him as he came in.
