Might be? He has a few alts...gets booted 2-3 x’s then comes back with a new alt....the mods must not care if he detracts from the forum...or maybe they enjoy the humorous trolling and use of casual and race baiting more than I do?

You really do have the intelligence of Carl Childers. What you got to eat that's good in there?

You always say this... what's the point?, maybe at being 35 years old, he just wanted to save the beating from the best prime HW of all time .. and maybe the backstory of the mob possibly being involved in this as a possibility is a reason. Liston had a piece of Ali's next 3 title defenses I believe.... Pep quit, Frazier quit, Duran quit, Ali quit, Vitali quit, etc etc etc …… Why don't you try giving Liston credit for making such sort work out of Patterson twice and Williams twice … what other heavyweight is going to that in the fashion Liston did

    Thankyou!
He is like a broken record.

    Ask him who beats Marciano.....
He won't respond, he never does.

I don't get it man .. Picking apart a fighter at age 35 .. He was 11 years older than Ali... Every single criticism of Liston is Ali and post … Chok is the same friggin way … I mean a '59 '60 version of Liston is a scary mother ******** for any HW ever win or lose

To be fair to Mendoza when naming Corbett he was simply making a point about the style of fighter who gave Liston problems, he simply used Corbett as an example.
Obviously Ali, Machen and Marshall were other examples.
On the question of Liston’s heart he fought with a broken jaw against Marshall first time out. Took some huge blows in the two slugfests against Williams, who could bang including Liston having his nose broken.
There was no quit in Liston up to the Ali fights, certainly the 2nd one something was going on there .

I see weights for Corbett of one seventy three through over one ninety like v. Jeffries. Are you deliberately minimizing size instead of being as fair as possible?

Both Liston & Foreman frighten the life out of the Rocky disciples.
If it's not the Ali fights with Liston it's the Qawi giving comeback Foreman problems.

In a word, it is pathetic.

Lol against Jefferies he was 188 and 183. Nice try though. James Toney weighed 257 for one bout. So I guess that means he is naturally bigger than Anthony Joshua right? Also what does any of this have do with Corbett turning pro in the 1880s and his skill level compared to modern fighters is basically below amateur skill level?

I need to watch that Bethda fight. I think most fight fans feel the second fight was fixed, to me it's obvious. I am also confident that Ali would have stopped him again anyway, and that was indeed due in part to the age difference...
but I feel the main reason was that Ali was the best fighter in the world and unquestionably the fastest HW. So, as a wise member mentioned earlier, Liston didn't have much to be ashamed of in the first fight because Ali truly was an extraordinary freak lol. I think of Liston as Tyson the original...though Tyson's record imo was significantly better.

A prime Sonny, born circa 1973 would come in at about 230-235-ish and virtually destroy anyone they put in front of him!

Thing is, when you bring up qawi or marshall as undersized opppnents who made them struggle and you respond "they still won" they wont let it end there and keep beating a dead horse.

But, being hypocrites, they get so offended if you bring up the 180 lbs Ted Lowry, how the 38 year old light heavyweight Moore had rocky down and made him struggle or ex light heavyweight charles going all 15 rounds and they just shrug and say "he still won, it's irrelevant to how succesful a different opponent would do".

I maybe in the minority here,I don't know, but I consider Liston a top ten ATG heavy.
    There goes any future credibility!
