Bowe had far better offensive tools than Frank and box wit the best of them? There have been a lot of heavies that could have boxed Frank`s ears off, Fury would have outjabbed Frank with ease.
I lean towards Bruno here by mid fight stoppage ,but I hasten to add if Bert caught Frank with the type of punch he got Holy field with ,then he's in with a chance .
Bruno wins this comfortably. Psychologically Bruno would not be intimidated. Bruno showed against a Coetzee and Eklund that power per se was not an issue, it was a confidence thing. And I suspect The Bomber would treat Cooper as a blown up cruiser and take him out inside four rounds.
Bruno had a very solid chin when not under pressure or tired, he would recover quickly and Cooper would be too exposed if he was finding positions to hit Bruno.
So many different versions of Bert , its impossible to say. Bruno was so carefully managed , he missed a lot of good fights that he could've had, he was always fighting stiffs or washed up names , to build him up for his next title shot. Bruno lost every real big fight he had , apart from beating a faded McCall.
Bruno behind the jab probably had enough to beat Cooper after a few shaky moments. 70/30 in favor of Bruno for me. Later rounds stoppage or points for Frank.
On the surface, my first thought is Bruno by decision. However, Bert has a legitimate punchers chance. If he hurts Frank like he did Holyfield and Moorer, Frank will not survive. Frank may be ahead on points, but at some point, and likely within the first five rounds, he's gonna get tagged hard. And when Bert smells blood, he accelerates the attack. Bruno had poor survival skills. My pick is Cooper by mid rounds TKO.
Big Bruno fan. But cooper would have stopped frank in similar fashion to franks first fight with Tyson.
You think McCall was faded? He was coming off wins over Lennox Lewis and Larry Holmes. And yet Bruno beat him comfortably. Bert beat Willie DeWitt and Joe Hipp at heavyweight. He lost to everyone else with a name. As dangerous and he was Cooper aint beating a huge Frank Bruno.
I don't know if he was faded. He just was never that good to begin with. A journeymen sparring partner type much like Cooper became. Still Bruno was holding on for dear life.
