We only know that heavyweight Jones beat Ruiz ,that's it ! Jack had years of experience fighting and beating a lot tougher and skilled fellas than Ruiz . Jack would find him self peed off with Ruiz s mauling style and we'd see Johnson s spiteful side come out .By the end of the fight ,Ruiz would be a battered man .Jacks uppercut s have his man bleeding from his nose and mouth . Johnson by ud .
What were Johnson's weights during his best wins.... over McVea, over Langford, over Jeanette, over Burns?
192 for Bruns, 185 for Langford. Roy Jones as a light heavy likely entered the ring above 180 pounds. Not a huge weight difference here.
Johnson's best wins are pretty much 200 pounds and below. His best filmed fight in my opinion was Burns and the listed weight was 192 pounds. The poll is close.
Would it matter what he weighed Seamus ?He'd beat a lot of guys skill wise .Admitted ,weight can play a part in some match ups but u have to factor in skill .And has for Jones ,we don't know how robust he'd be at heavyweight .If he'd carried on at heavyweight after Ruiz he might have been iced in his first fight .
Same old nonsense. The men in Johnson's era as a whole despite hundreds of fights knew nothing since Boxing w skill only started in the thirties .. interesting but the man who molded Joe Louis was a standout from Johnson's era but then again Louis knew nothing as well .. that aside, aside from being a naturally larger and much stronger and harder punching man, Johnson is one of the few heavyweights that catches him with speed, skill and intellect. Johnson unless pressed by clear decision. If pressed he certainly could stop Jones.
B-hop became a much better defensive fighter in the years after his first bout with Roy, Johnson was far more skilled than B-hop from the early 90`s and much more dangerous than Toney.
