He also says that Golovkin was overrated, and people are hating on him for saying that, but he thinks he won both fights against Canelo. This content is protected From 3:00
If he saying Golovkin is overrated yet he still thinks he got the better of Alvarez in both fights then it’ll be interesting to hear what he thinks of Canelo.
Teddy does seems to contradict himself at times. Although he recently said that he considers Canelo good yet not great, for whatever good that is.
Wouldn't be surprised if that had something to do with it. High altitude, rigorous training isn't really beneficial for an older fighter with miles on them. I see Saucedo just left Abel, too. That makes him, GGG, and Joyce.
I don't think he's balanced enough to train, I half like him, but if his training is anything like his opinions his fighters would be better with someone else, he's all over the shop !
He said Canelo is a special fighter one of the best of the current fighters but not great in comparison of other eras I think the concept is simple he thinks Golovkin is overrated but still thinks he beat Alvarez He does feel that Golovkins ability has kind of stagnated while Alvarez has made improvements from fight to fight which I think is clear in fight 2 compared to fight 1 You don’t have to agree with teddy but like a lot of old timer fans he doesn’t toss the word great around with many current guys
God bless you guys who can actually listen to his bluster. Not saying he doesn't make some legitimate points but, my God, he acts like he is revealing the secrets of the universe when he speaks. It's boxing, Teddy.
It's is embarrassing to listen to Atlas communicate with his fighters in the corner. It's like his message is being delivered to an audience, not his fighter. Like a Hollywood scriptwriter would say it.
This is what I assumed when I first heard news of the split. Abel works his fighters like dogs. Great regime for a young man....dumber then hell for a 37yr old. They all live , eat and train together. Same regimen for everyone. It's the only way Able knows. GGG's gonna be a little sharper this time around. But 37 is still 37..
