We all know his power is incredible. In terms of boxing ability alone how good is he in the skill department? I think he’s a very skilled boxer-puncher. But it would be nice to see him in more fights where he showcases more boxing skills and fighting in the late rounds without stopping his opponents too early.

Inoue's not gonna put in more rounds if the guy is ready to go. But you can see the boxing skills on display leading up to the KOs.
I don't see anyone at 118 currently or at 115 who could potentially move up and trouble Inoue. In fact, when Inoue cleans out 118 and moves up to 122, I think him facing Emanuel Navarrete would be a superb fight, just to see if Inoue's power, speed, timing, accuracy and superb skill set can overcome the size and reach advantages of Navarrete, who has a huge reach at 122lbs. But as far as 118 goes: Monster KO3 Estrada.
He got caught a couple of times, nothing major, and then.....the hooks begin to feel stronger than they did in the first round. Boom. The monster!
Yeah unlike mcdonnel navarette knows how to use his size well and also has power. I think he may be the toughest matchup for inoue in 122 stylistically speaking
I think once he starts moving up higher weight classes his power may not be as devastating and he will have to fall back on his boxing ability eventually. He’s a skillful offensive fighter even without the power.
Actually its the opposite, he was a decent puncher at 108, an above average puncher at 115, and an absolutely terrifying puncher at 118.
Inoue will go down as the greatest Japanese fighter of all time. He has way more potential than Harada.
A lot of hype for a man who has yet to fight an elite opponent. Don't get me wrong, he's excellent and I thoroughly enjoy watching him fight, but I'm not on board with this line of thinking that he blows through guys like Nery, Estrada, etc. until he actually does it.
I feel he felt quiet mortal in the first round. He said himself he lost the round. A slick defensive minded boxer might defeat him.
He weighed 131 in the ring against McDonnell 135 pounder Loma weighs 138 and was 129 in the ring for his pro debut at 126 So as improbable as it sounds Inoue has actually been heavier than Loma in the ring even though he's never fought above 118 and he also has a 2'' longer reach than Loma too.
He's got some skills to go with that crazy power and blistering speed. His left hook is a thing of beauty, especially as a counter it almost seems like he throws it off pure reflex at times, anyone throwing a right hand better damn sure cover up or move after throwing it because that left hook counter is coming for you in a fraction of a second. He varies his attack nicely to head and body, he's not just a head hunter. He was smart when finishing off Rodriguez knowing he'd cover up and twice ignored the head and dropped him with body shots. He throws nice, fast, compact combinations too. He's very much a counter puncher, he just doesn't plow forward, he probes you and looks to counter you as you throw. His defence I haven't seen much of from the few fights I've seen, he moves his head but nobody yet has got past his offence to make him show much of his defensive skills.
