With 9 successful title defenses, isn't Wilder already an ATG at Heavyweight

    objectively speaking i mean...

9 defenses is nothing to take lightly... especially with all those devastating KOs.

Are Sven Ottke and Lucian Bute all time greats? How about Johnny Nelson? Being an atg is about fighting and beating the best, not about defending an abc belt.

I prefer quality over quantity. I do respect his reign to a degree... but, its a pretty shallow list.

hes still trying to learn how to fight. hes like a 3 point shot artist who cant dribble, pass, or rebound.

Without a solid body no, but I understand what you mean. I have no idea why Haymon never got him a Klitschko fight when Wlad was ripe for the picking.

My issue with Wilder is... I actually dont think he IS trying to learn. I think hes content at what he does (going by the interviews I hear, and what I see of his training)

ive noticed that too, he has too much belief that his right hand can get him out of trouble in any situation. i can see why he may believe that, but i can also see that without that right, hes a very weak boxer.
an aggressive boxer with good head movement would absolutely bewilder him, but the hw division is so pizz poor that i cant even find that.

Ye it deserves merit sure, but ultimately look at the reign deeper.. His two best opponents:

One man had blood pressure pills in case he had a stroke & died of old age & the other was about to have a stroke unless someone gave him a pil! Preferably an E..

    Fury & Ortiz.

Both boxed Wilders arse off too!

Oh ya, plus he fought Bermaine twice, once pregnant!

He's kayoing tomatoe cans.. Remember that phrase? Y'all used to regularly use it for K2 opponents.. Remember?

Well arm punching Tyson Fury confused him just by moving. Any fighter who puts pressure on him would beat him. Most of these current heavyweight are either fat or on PEDs and don't punch pressure on anybody. So basically like you said the heavyweight division is pizz poor.

No because the quality isn't there and one of those defences should be a loss to Fury.

The Breazeale performance was impressive but until he unifies he's just another paper champion. Otherwise do we start rating guys like Ottke or Zsolt Erdei who have long reigns as champions? Hell at least Ottke unified a couple of titles, his reign is far more impressive than Wilders.

Wilder still doesnt have a decent win on his resume

Grandpa Ortiz who is 51 years old or Stiverne are his two best wins.

He lost to Fury, lets be real here.

Rather than bodying a slow plodder like Breazeale in a mandatory he should have dared to be great and faced the number 1 undisputed HW out there: Anthony Joshua.

He is wasting everyones time by ducking AJ like this.

Haha let the hype train begin. Great great KO. But he’s still the third best HW in the world and has fought only two good fighters, One who is ancient and almost Koed him and one who beat him clearly in the cards. Great fighter amazing power but he is so technically inept it won’t allow him to beat AJ or Fury IMHO.
