Parker definitely has a style which would make him competitive in there. He has a good defence and solid fundamentals.

He lacks a killer instinct and lacks a nastiness in his work, and looks to comfortable in his current set up though. That would stop me from picking him to beat Wilder.

But it would likely go late or the distance

Parker could win a decision unless he gets robbed with a draw.

Too much of a plodder. Wilder gets through somewhere in the round 7-10 range and sparks him.

I've always wanted Joe to fight him. Joes already fought Joshua, now he needs to fight Wilder and then hopefully Fury.

Win or lose, Joe would have built a resume he can be proud of if he does fight those guys. No early KO losses though lol.

Parker isn't Breazeale he's far harder to hit that Breazeale. But Wilder would have to be favourite if they fought, I've always thought Parker would give Wilder problems but eventually you have to think Wilder lands a bomb and stops Parker. Even if it goes the distance, no chance in hell Parker wins a decision.

But I don't see Parker getting a shot. The Haymon model is clearly defined, Haymon always sets up other Haymon fighters for Wilder to fight if he can. Ortiz and Kownacki are next.

Stylistic match-up that suits Parker. His chin and defence eliminate him from an early stoppage giving him a chance to let his hands go and hurt the chinny Wilder.

Plz no. My two favorite Heavyweights. Parker beat AJ imho, the ref was clearly bought and paid for. He even yelled at Parker to stop coming forward that was complete Madness.

Parker is a former title holder and would arguably be Wilder 2nd best win after Ortiz and even that's debatable as Ortiz's resume is so thin. Parker would beat Breazeale, Molina, Stiverne, Duhaupas, Washington, and Szpilka.

I know where greenhornets coimng from though. Wilders best win is Ortiz. Joshua has Povetkin, Klitschko, Whyte and Parker. Joe still hasn't beaten that everyone can agree is a top 5.

The chin argument becomes redundant if you’re caught cold. I expect Parker to have success, but the more you take it to a fighter, the more likely you are to find yourself on the end of a punch that you didn’t see coming. Whyte showed that for Parker. Though I do think that Parker would have success in that fight.

Ortiz is Wilder's best win but who has Ortiz beat in the top 5? Jennings, lol.

Parker at least had a title and has mixed twice at the top level vs Joshua and Whyte, he's at least a known quantity. Ortiz in comparison never had a title only once fought at the top level. They are comparable, though I would favour Ortiz if he fought Parker.
